so I have decided to give dual boxing a try. I am considering two mages one with earth pet for rooting and other for air pet for stuns. I might at times mix it up one mage and one necro for dots, snare, feign death, being able to rez and quick mana regeneration.

I run a mage/necro combo. The plus side is the necro can feign death pull single mobs almost anywhere.
Not sure if you're open to the idea; BUT, I also run a healing and caster merc. Keep the caster merc on balanced, your pet taunts on, and you should do fine.
When I tire of those two I run a ranger/shaman pair.

I have never even considered this (to my detriment). I have an 80 Mage and Necro and never thought about duoing them. The synergy is obvious too! Bring one of the 80 clerics and I could even do Beza and Zeka.
I need to dig up that duos thread here!
