Lunar Madness: Phase 3, Beyond the Moon in Rallos Name!Follow

Background: We did all of this on Cazic Thule Server (where we still are). Our phase 1 of levelling on Luclin from 1-60, without defiant/pok/hotzone gear and minimal mercs was a great success. We even made headway on the ridiculous Twilight Sea armor quests. We lasted 6-8 weeks longer than I would have put money on playing this way, and had a great collection of people. Our more active loggers got pretty far ahead of the other half level wise, and we hit a content ceiling of Umbral Plains mini bosses --though a few more at 60 and we could have tackled more.

So we attempted a phase 2 basically upping our content to take in Odus (Luclin lore connects decently, and it gave us LoY and TBS to do). But... this overlapped with the holiday season and basically flatlined our login rate (no spin, just honesty). However, dabbling in LoY is fun (and much nicer for earning plat than low Luclin). We didn't even scratch TBS as not many got there level wise (but Trappin was ready!).

So now we are at the present, where most of the alumni are currently on vacation (or tired of the concept). Yenwangweh has probably been the most dedicated to logging in, but I've noticed some others. So I'm going to pitch a phase 3 as a comeback, or startover, or join fresh point:

Rallos Zek, angry God of War looked upon Luclin and saw the carnage wrought in his name. He saw the Hate-worshippers of Broken Skull Rock being punished for their insolence, The Kobolds of the Warrens being tested. What he saw was good in his eyes, but not enough. All Norrath must feel his rage... and so the call was put onto his followers: Take your crusade to Norrath, to the cities. Stoke the fires of war to a frenzy, play all sides against each other.

Lunar Madness Phase 3:

Content lock: original to Luclin, LoY, Use of PoK for travel and merchants. Guild hall for convienence, etc. (closing TBS for now, only one current guildie even arguably "needing" it). Anticipated next phase way down the line would be LDoN (not planar progression as that is a casual guild killer).

Level lock: soft lock on 65 (tons of AA and gear acquisition to do at this level. Very valid in silver membership). Current content lock would make going to 70 challenging, but not impossible if someone really had to push one character that way. A really active only playing one character person might need to ding 66-67 to have some decent AA to earn too.

Gear: vendor or baz defiant drops (or save for an alt not playing this way), not using loyalty, claim or hotzone gear for visibles or jewellry slots but augment as you wish [mostly to keep the hunting purposeful.. there is no reason to kill in velious if wearing defiant]. Epic 1.0 is viable in this vision, but not easy. Use /claim or LoN stuff if you want, but please minimize it trivializing things we do together.

Play: how you want, when you want. Merc use solo is allowed/encouraged. Minimized in group so that we have challenge and get to flex our class muscles. Play whatever classes you want. Play as many characters as you want. Box if you want.

Side project: make a level 50-52 dragon killer or two. Without mercs, in the era of gear within the limits this would actually take a force of some size. [2 level 52 in defiant with mercs can easily do it though, as a comparison].

Exceptions: "I really like you guys, but I want to solo my character in defiant, work on updating old quests on alla, and do tradeskills. Can I be in the guild to be a part of chat?".... sure. We can accept all kinds of exceptions, we just don't want level 97 mages wiping out Kael instead of letting our level 60s group test their mettle as it were.

Thoughts? Did I miss something?

If you want in, do a /who all lunar on Cazic Thule. I'm catchable EST evenings, A few others are more PST. If you post here that you want in (and tell us your character name) we will friendlist you and look for you.

Sounds good to me. I like the idea of Dragon Killers as I am currently doing this on other servers. It might be a lot more fun in the Mutants!!

LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love the early zones, and Kunark dungeons are the best.

As I have stated in earlier posts, I love to hunt dragons...to do those with this group would be too much fun.

Count on me logging in ( although, in my new place my internet is a little wonkie right now, working on it ) and I am totally down with this phase...

RALLOS' WILL BE DONE!!!!!!! Smiley: sly Smiley: sly Smiley: sly

P.S. my one transferred cleric is actually 66 I think, is it cool if he is a little above the cap? Smiley: bowdown

it is cool Smiley: cool

My brother is even talking about returning again (for the 4th? time). If he does we'd be lucky to see him once a week, but I think the core idea of "phase 3" allows a super casual to stay in the mix.

I'm really looking forward to this part as well. I can push Mystro to 52 or transfer in a 52 SK or Pally that were built as dragon killers on Tunare.

Got a 51 undergeared shaman ( although, I can fix the gear part quickly ) and I think I have another couple of 50ish guys I could bring over, or just get off my butt and get Rhaah and Craawl up there ( could do Guk and get that done fairly quickly)

Cool that you are down for this, got 2 guys on Fv that got every dragon but the suckers in Veeshan ( due to damn super healing chromatics..Smiley: glare Smiley: glare Smiley: glare )

I've been interested in completing my epic, and getting back to a few other places in luclin. This sounds like a good time to do both of those things.
Plus, my Wizard has been, mostly in part to because of the adventures with mutants , and gearing up old school, one of my most epic characters. It seems perfectly fitting, that i complete the wizard epic quest.
Worst thing has to be both of the Old world raid mobs that are required. Theres some questing in halas issues(as im a dark elf) but it should be possible with a little bit of illusions and some sneakyness.

also, I think SSra temple has been waiting for me... :)
