SoE dropped the Ball.. .I mean Bag again.Follow

SoE offered this Black Friday as one of their Advertised Special savings station cash item: The four packed Wayfarer's Pocketed Rucksack at a reduced price. Last thread I posted on SoE's forums:
"I am so glad that someone from SoE monitors these boards, the game on their self imposed 4 day weekend, GM's in general chat, /bug report & Petitions....WTF?
I want and DEMAND my package of 4 Bag Wayfarer's Pocketed Rucksack (36 slot)

The package of the 4 Bag Wayfarer's Pocketed Rucksack (36 slot) was highlighted and offered in game. (screen shots to prove if needed). I am thinking that this just might fall under consumer fraud? Like the thread above I bought the Station Cash just for this ADVERTIZED ITEM both in and out of game. At 4am this morning (pacific) I see that time has expired on this offer.
I really don't think Sony would want their corporate lawyers to have to fly to Reno, Nevada or any of the numerous player's cities to handle a small claims court suite. Just because someone from SoE could have fixed this if anyone would of paid attention?
I replied to this thread at 6am Friday November 29, 2013 reporting this problem, I submitted a bug report very shortly after. I could not file a petition, because I had one pending, but piggy backed it on the existing petition after SoE sent me an email regarding the 1st petition was handled and I had to wait 7 day. By the way this policy sucks, not to be able to have multiple petitions and also getting rid of on-line help chat.
So What Now? "
If you have similar problems please post to thread so SoE can get their act together and offer this again and make us who want the bags Happy!!!

I honestly have no idea what your complaint is. Were the items not available? Was the deal ended early?

I'm not being snide, I sincerely have no idea what your core complaint is from your post. Oh, and if SOE had a nickel for every "class action lawsuit" they were going to face, they could give us all free gold subscriptions.

Jophiel you needed to read the link on SoE's forum I provided. but yes they advertised something for real $$ and they did not provide. I know I will get dinged on my ratings but I always am.....by the time you typed your comment you could of linked and read.

Have to admit I never saw the actual offering of these large bags at discount in the Marketplace. It was only advertised for Black Friday but I was logged in on Friday and never did see them offered for sale at any kind of reduced price.

Not like they don't do this from time to time and probably will again by the end of the year.

I think the OP is saying he bought SC with real $ just for this purpose due to seeing a promo, which is still viewable as past history in the Marketplace window, but never actually was able to buy his bags. If so, I feel his pain, altho I already had SC in my account so mine don't hurt as much.

I saw them in the marketplace late last night but I was only on for a few minutes. In fact, I mainly logged in out of curiosity of what a SC "Black Friday" sale looked like.

The responses in the linked thread seem a little... reactionary. It's not as though SOE responded and said "***** you, no bags and we keep your money" they just haven't responded yet due to the holiday weekend.

Hi all - I also purchased SC - the $80 for 10,000 and only cost $59 instead of $80 Black Friday 30% off - I purchased with the express intent of buying the 36/slot bags which showed as available - but when you purchased - it said transaction completed. but it didn't give me my bags nor did it take any SC from my acct. So now I'm stuck with the SC till they have another Bag day purchase. SO I empathize with the original Complainer.

SoE offered the 36 slot bag at a reduced price for Black Friday through the Marketplace. I bought SC through Sony's site for the purpose of purchasing these bags. The function was broken for the entire length of 24 hours and now is not available. Despite petitions, /bugs, early notification by players on their forums and face book it seemed our voices were ignored. Still has not been address. This would of been a $37.50 purchase and seems to affect more the just me. So you criticize my paragraph structure but seem a lot of others understood what I was talking about. You should be an example and people look up to you… I have never. To me you have always been a phony.

and they have kept my money. it is in control in Station Cash form but I cannot exchange it back for credit on my credit card. And Friday I believe was not a holiday for them they were the ones who ran a Black Friday promotion.

Seems like you need to get a hold of customer service. Also i can understand your frustration i see what your posting about and several other people are/have posted about on the offical EQ boards. As they have had the same problem as you. What I dont understand is the need to post to another EQ forum(not official) site and then expect all the people to side with you. I mean it just seems like your flaming on everyone who doesnt agree with you(which people on this board me included sometime just like to fan the flame). There is no need to low blow Joph saying they are a phony? Kinda low of you actually imo.

After you get a hold of customer service and they dont do anything or if the do something for you, like honor your transaction (which im sure they will) then post on here and let us know what happen. You arent even giving Sony a fair shot to redeem/explain what might have happened.

Jophiel started the flaming in her first reply and then the second.... to address about posting here, to be honest this forum seem to me better then SoE's but I write in both. You have the choice to read it or not. I did not post to gain support I posted for information to others and if they were having the same problem I gave them a link to SoE's boards. SoE was sure not addressing the problem.
The only way SoE could fix the problem is by running the promotion again in working order... customer service can not be contacted until Monday morning. The promotion was only for Black Friday midnight to midnight. The only way to get the discount on Station Cash was to buy it yesterday also. A lot of people bought Station Cash just for this 4 bag promotion that SoE advertised as the same for myself.

Y'know, hate to sound like the Grinch but as a businessman one thing I hate about the year-end holidays is how people take all this time off and make no allowances for their customers/suppliers/contacts to get serviced while they're gone. For example, I've tried to reach this one technical sales rep over a $4000 order I need to place since Wed and no responses to emails, phone messages, etc. Finally today I contacted a tech support person who was stuck with the holiday coverage and he told me the rep was gone from wed thru MONDAY and would be back at work Tues. NOBODY covering his emails, voice mail, etc. So his company may lose a $4k order because I'm pissed off enough.

The OP's frustration is that Sony scheduled this promo for one day, Black Friday, and then made NO allowances for customer service or tech support coverage in the case that something went wrong with the technical operation of the promo. Now knowing Sony, you have to allow at least for the POSSIBILITY of something going wrong. But if you have a short-duration promo like this and no human being assigned to deal with technical problems during that time, well then...

you're going to have some pissed-off customers.

No way to treat people who are trying to send you $$$.

EQ customer service seems slower then usual right now. As I have a ticket lodged with them since Nov 26th (re a cc renewal bug) which the TSR responded to within 1 hour and then he informed me that it was forwarded to their billing/accounts dept and they would be in touch with me "soon".... yet no response or fix since then. Forcing me to buy Kronos via Paypal to ensure my accounts remain gold while they sort it out.

I would not be surprised if they screwed this up also.

There is no distinction between a brick and mortar store and an internet store, you take my money, I want my gosh darn widget, okay? And I'll expand on that concept even more, I see no difference between spending $39.99 on a North Face rucksack at REI or the same amount of money on an Everquest backpack. $40 dollars is $40 dollars.


SOE can't have it both ways, if they want to operate a retail business, then they best staff the store. By the way, this isn't simply a matter of some spoiled punk gamer not getting a raid drop from Nagafen, this is about a transaction involving money with a legal business entity located in California.



Now, this is for Vinny (everyone else stop reading please.) Vinny, take a few deep breaths of fresh air. You'll get the darn packs.

I Flamed on Sony but no one else. a good % of post are flaming on SOMETHING here. As for the corporate lawyers was just a rib to have SoE get off their butt. As for the transaction Rukkuss you need to read the post… Nothing happen except the window popped up. I clicked the buy tab they said I received it and nothing other than that happen… I still had all my station cash and they still had their pixel bags. The main problem is others and I wanted the bags for $37.50 and went to SoE’s site to buy the station cash just for these items, that Sony advertised but put a time limit on how long you had to make these transaction. Time passed. No one bought the deal and SoE didn’t collect the $37.50 and didn’t pass “GO”. This problem didn’t affect you or Jophiel but it did affect a lot of other players. The post here was to inform and flame on SoE a bit. Just because they seem to not support their customers as I feel they should.. I do not demand much but if they go out of the way to advertise a Sale then they should support this sale. Very simple.

No argument there. That said, I don't think the resolution to the issue is to start threatening lawsuits before the weekend is even up.

While it would be nice if someone was currently handling it (publicly anyway; maybe someone's working behind the scenes right now) the reality is that SOE is the only game in town for SOE bags and, provided they get this sorted out early in the coming week, it's unlikely this will have any real impact on them.
