Level 47 warrior with a 56 cleric in tow throwing around heals. What's a good weapon for this stage and future levels? Currently carrying a Shadow Heart, Scimitar of the Emerald Dawn, and a Darkblood Sword for two handed. There must be better out there, but what?

Considering your two-hander is a Luclin Era raid drop (so very nice at level 60 once upon a time), you'll need to look to even harder (for its time) content such as Vex Thal, or move ahead in era... such as the Windblade from Planes of Power.

By Omens of War they weren't focusing so much on upgrading weapons below level 60 use, and restrictions on req/rec level were heavily in play. There might be something in the Serpent's Spine content though (try looking up Steppes, Icefall, etc.) that is a ratio and stat upgrade.

The time you spend hunting a better weapon useable below 60 will probably result in you being level 65... so it depends what you want. Of course, if you are playing on the FV server... $ will get you an above-your-head raid drop.

This ^ is true indeed.

If you have access to one or two high level characters/friends, then you can try for some of the weapons in this link:

https://forums.station.sony.com/eq/index.php?threads/cleric-weapons.196792/

Edit :Oopse..my bad, thought you meant the Cleric. For your warrior at 58 you can get these from Vergalid Mines (TSS expansion) : https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=56522

and https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=53345.

With high level help you can get both in 1 long session (random generator dependent lol) if you have the zone to yourself. The named mobs for both warrior weapons spawn in basically the same area, just clear all the flowers-lotus's and the alligators nearby the Lotus camp-area, to have a chance of spawning both named. With a 90 SK/Shammy it was straightforward for me. Both weapons are also lore items so they make good hand me downs or could be sold in Bazaar later on.

Otherwise at lvl 65, new weapons with better stat upgrades open up from SOF T1 named in Loping Plains and Dragonscale Hills. For both the warrior and cleric classes..

Good Luck.

The problem with your post, is you're only giving a little bit of info. Like all your weapons your duo couldn't get on their own without some help. So what's the help you can get? 'Cause basically, you can't duo anything better ratio-wise for at least a few, if not many levels.

Some stuff you might want to work on for later that doesn't include raid mobs ('cause there are alot of options now, like previously said, if you got help to get them): Molten Mithril Longsword at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=34957 is a descent ratio (better than your piercer) and a good proc at 55; Gnollcracker at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=53873 from the Quest: Sweeping the Steppes: Gnolls at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3878 in which you can't do till 55, but even then will need some help to complete it with 67+ level mobs in groups to kill.

As far as what you can get now, Snailish covered most of it, but easier / safer to get your toons too (similar to Umbral Plains from whence your linked weapons came) is stuff in Ssraeshza Temple. The cursed cycle in particular has some really nice War weapons. See Vyzh`dra the Cursed at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=7830. Or all the mobs from Ssra at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npclist.html?zone=140

I just recommend Vyzh'dra cause the basement is easy to get to, without any traps and only one see invis which roams the area, but with places you can camp out of site of his pathing. Others may require more clearing of traps and see invis to get the toons too, but can well be worth the effort. Like Hategiver at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=8890 from Xerkizh the Creator. The problem with most of these, are they drop alot of class specific items, that aren't the class you are after, and may require many kills to get the item(s) you want. And they all have fairly long respawn timers.

I'm gonna stop there, but also mention Bloodfrenzy at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=13242 from Vyzh'dra the Cursed. +15% Riposte and Enraging Blow proc, with an excellent ratio and great stats.

You can use Vyledorinajirnak the Sea's Justice for slow-swapping, it's an easy camp with the warrior / cleric duo.

For slows, I prefer Truncheon of Doom for War with 50% slow at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=582 and there is https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Items_Special_Procs with lots of different procs. A good reference for War while leveling up, is the https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Items_Aggro_Procs page for weapons and augments to seek out for maintaining aggro.
