11th & 12th Seasons:
Made first foray into the Frog’s mudhole. I found a
city reeking of meat, froaking in every direction. The first frogs I saw were cowardly and let me pass deeper into their home, only to attempt ambush when a more worthy member of their kind halted my progress. I slew
many but was chased out by a mass of them upon reaching a spot with plank bridges.
13th Season:
I sold my goods in Grobb, and again assaulted the frogs. I conquered the plank bridge and noticed there is a
rank to the frogs. With shame I realize that I have only been destroying the lowest of their fighters.
I am not ready to push deeper into the frog city. There is no glory for me, though I have been rewarded for my work. My fellow trolls remain unimpressed –I need to travel to be appreciated. I head back to Ogguk, home of the despised Greenbloods. Chef Dooga is rude to me, but I know how to win her
favor . She acts like she doesn’t adore me, but I leave her hut with
something to remember her by.
While in Ogguk I am bothered by
armored rats the ogres are too foolish to kill. I get a job bashing them which is funny to me. Those rats were going to die whether the ogres paid me or not. They are liking me more than ever, one feels more appreciated away from home.
I will earn the respect of my people! They want me to collect mosquito wings… I know this is a joke they play on me. I have done more than they know, been places. No mosquitos in Grobb are suited to my current skills. No
mosquitos are to be found in South Ro or The Feerrott. They expect me to give up. I do not.
It takes all my skills to avoid the
giant skeletons , orcs and lizardmen that seek my death here in the
Rathe Mountains . I skirt around the edges of the camp the defeated frogloks have made. Northwest of their pathetic tent village I hunt as I please in full view of their guards. It pleases me to think that every crab spiderling and mosquito I slay takes food from them.
Heavy laden from my time near the frogloks, I head north and find friendly merchants. A
freakish beetle attacks me. I slay it. I run through unfriendly lands to reach
Lake Rathetear –a place Hukulk said I wouldn’t be ready to see until my 20th season. I quickly realize the wisdom in Hukulk’s words as I am forced to flee the lake. My new
shovel is at least proof that I was actually there.
The Nightkeep is so impressed they present me with new
boots for frog stomping. I head back to the frog city and make it past the planks. This time the sentinels and guards die. I am gathering much
woven armor but have little need of it. My pillaging ends when I enraged a
froglok witch doctor . I have been repeatedly humbled by these frogs… but I am gaining strength from this testing.
I decide to head back to South Ro. The Nightkeep still wants me to bring zombie skin and such to them. Once again I contract rabies, but I will not be halted. I push farther north than I have ever been, past an oasis, only to be forced back by
a mean giant . It will be many seasons before I can bash him. Returning to Grobb I did not tell them about my failure in the north, but did have zombie skins to show. My
new gloves were worth the work.
I spend the rest of my 13th season training in Grobb killing large mosquitos and hunting in the southern desert of Ro. Sand giants continue to harry me, though I have never harmed their kind.
[ooc: Upper Guk is hard with no crowd control. Snare is better than nothing, but they still get far enough to agro a room full. I find myself killing 3-4 grey cons that will add before I can take a dark blue. The xp is really good per kill though –when I am killing xp mobs. I’ve eaten at least 3 deaths in guk so far. My biggest challenge is the super-fast respawn rate at the front of the zone so I can’t really break a camp at my current strength.
Until I can feign death (level 24) or invis (level 30 I think) I am pretty bound up as to where I can travel. I’m feeling very contained in the Innothule, South Ro, Feerrott triangle. I TOTALLY see why Temple of Cazic Thule was originally a lowbie zone… but it’s only because I am playing this way.]
