Hello,

Is there currently a vendor that sells unlimited bone chips? I thought I read about this a while back and cannot find any information on it.

If you're in a guild, use the guild hall portal gnome to port you to Brell's Rest. Once you've zoned in, make an immediate left. There should be 2 NPC's there. One sells unlimited bone chips. Hope this helps. :)

Bone chips are not sold at NPC vendors by default as far as I know. Unless someone sold or dumped them on the vendor (or there was a recent change that I am unaware of).

In the Bazaar many traders sell them for around 1pp each.

Good luck.

Correction/Edit: See Missjackie's post below (post #4).

Actually, the one in Brell's does sell unlimited bone chips.

Standing in front of her right now, she's called https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=34079 (Marie Fay). :)

*Sniffle*

Gone are the days of sitting in Shadowhaven by the Halfling meat merchant and using my Flesh to Bone AA to make bags and bags of bone chips.

*wipes back a tear*

(also.. that is cool to know)

I use Apothecary Cadmael in Oceangreen Village. No need for a guild then. Just Druzzil Ro to Time to Void to Oceangreen Hills to Oceangreen Village.

The Brell's might be closer, but I was using the Oceangreen since SoD.

No one goes after the proc'ing dagger in Greig's End any more either. Scythe of Sundering or the one from Chardok that does bone chips innately, Boneshear

Don't actually need to use guild hall to get to Brell's either. Book to Paineel (tox forest). Short run to Paineel. Very short run to drop into the Hole. Then very short run to Brell's. You come out about 100 feet away from where the guild portal takes you. And aside from extremely low level mobs in Tox Forest, there's nothing kos along the way. The run through Oceangreen Hills and to the Village is pretty daunting/dangerous for folks even up into their 70s.

Nice, when UF was new, there were cliknars by the zone in, and is there any non-porter way out? Or do you still have to rely on a gate or what not, unless you want to do the long trek through the Hole. I never explored UF at all.

And yea, it is daunting, if you've never been. It's fairly safe if you follow the wall to Old Blackburrow, then follow the path the rest of the way, and keep an eye for undead, and have an invis. Still very risky at very low levels where everything can 1-round you.

Both come out in a pair of kinda connected caverns (guild portal is in one, Hole zoneline is in another, but very close together). Nothing KoS in there that I could see. The next chamber over had a bunch of cliknars and whatnot running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Of course, this was with my Dwarf Paladin, so it's possible stuff just liked me. But I don't recall seeing anything other than a handful of Dwarves in that part of the zone. I'm assuming they aren't kos to anyone.

And yeah, no realistic way to get out of there without gate. I mean, you could trek all the way through the Hole, but that's going to take a ridiculously long amount of time. Just use Throne if you've got it. If you don't, everyone has Origin, so use that.

Yeah. Whatever you do, do *not* follow the zonewall all the way to down. There's a camp full of undead with a named SK undead in it right along said zonewall. Oh. And I think you want to follow it to the Karana path, not Old Blackburrow (Blackburrow is the first one, then Karana, right?). Whatever, it's the second path you'll cross. From there, it's a short run past the construction site area to the main path, then a dash to the OGV zoneline. There usually aren't wandering mobs along the side path, but you can run into wolves and bears (and occasional wandering skele) once you get around the intersection.

Honestly, the bigger issue is getting to the village in one piece. There's no zoneline to clear agro, and the NPCs are iffy in terms of what they'll help you with. If you've got invis you *should* be ok though. But you could agro a wandering undead, and while running, agro a rat or wolf or bear, and when you get to the village, the NPCs will kill the undead, but I don't think they'll help with the other wildlife. And yeah. Anyone below around 70th level is taking serious risk at all times in those zones.

I'm with you... my Drakkin necro did it half the hard way (drops and vendor diving), until getting the AA (most used) and item drops (a wee bit used) others have mentioned already in the thread.

The necro AA worked great with the unlimited meat vendors (pretty sure I used one in Thurgadin).

My mind is saying the de vendor near the pool in pok also sells bone chips. I dont think they were from vendor diving. But then my mind right now is upset at the Ravens play.

I think it's because bat wings and bone chips are too similar, 'cause I've thought the same thing, but never any there. Smiley: frown

This is sad, in a strange twisted sorta way. I just bought an AA that gives me permanent enduring breath. Same kind of sadness followed. It's like all the challenges that made the original game have gone by the wayside, like acquiring essential non-vendor loot (bone chips, bat wings) and making sure you had gear that provided essential buffs like see-invis and enduring breath.

I used to make decent money with newbie toons leveling from 1 to 5 in Paineel farming bone chips and selling them for 1pp each in bazaar. This was of course a very long time ago when we still had the laggy bazaar. Could always sell them as quick as I could farm them.

I just tried this a moment ago. Gated my Pally to Brell's Rest, bought 4,000 bone chips and parcelled them to my Rogue Kitty. Way back when I finished factioning my Necro and Beastlord, I started on the Rogue, but severe boredom intervened. Turning in bone chips 4 at a time also gave me very poor faction with my mouse, fingers and wrists.

When I tried just now, my Rogue was Warmly to Mozo and Threateningly to the Crusaders. On a whim, I tried turning in 100 bone chips per slot making it 400 at a time. It worked! In less than 5 min I was Amiable to the Crusaders. Times have changed!

I thought I saw something in a recent patch that skirted around this (increase in ability to turn in stacks). Anyone able to verify? (so that I know I am not imagining)
