Is there an easy way to up this skill?
A little background. I have a level 52 Pally that was created under the original Recruit a Friend deal way back when. It came in at level 51 with all skills save tradeskills maxed out. Lately, I have decided to kit him out as a dragon killer so have been slowly acquiring gear for him. I leveled him to 52 and as it was kind of cool to have a maxed skill char, I am now trying to max his last two skills, Begging and Throwing. Can anyone suggest a good way to max these two skills?

For throwing, either get yourself an item that summons throwing weapons or ask a friendly Magician to summon you up a mess of summoned throwing daggers. Then the old way (which I assume still works) was to head to a major wizard spire (such as in N. Karana) and whip crap at the Nexus portal NPC. Stay away from them so they don't melee you, but they're permarooted and don't summon and have seemingly near infinite hp so they make great practice targets.

Thanks, looks like the Mage option is the most doable. I had thought there was a quest from the Fletcher at the crossroads in Blightfire Moors, but a Pally only gets arrows, not a throwing item. I have managed to get 2 begging skillups while fighting Giants in the Mesa attempting to get the quest item for the Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore. No drop yet, so maybe begging will max before it does drop. My luck with quick dropping quest items is non-existent.
I partly raised begging skill by using training points. I also have the skill on a movement hot key so anyone close and targeted can be begged from. Finally yes i click off in combat, beg then start fighting again. There is a use for it when wearing the ravenclaw necklace in charm spot.
Do you have a spell you continually cast in combat? Maybe making a hot key for the Yalp line or something with:
/attack off
/doability 1
/cast 4
/attack on
So you're constantly begging during combat without having to think about working the skill.

The Hotkey for the Yalp spell is a GREAT idea!!! I use Yalp all the time and it would make for several less clicks during a fight!! I only need 3 more begging skill ups as he came ready made maxed on all level 51 skills. I intend to leave him at 52 and gear up for Vox and Naggy. I already have a 75 Pally, so have no desire to level another.
Well, tried the npc in the wizard spire in GFay and I guess it's been fixed as I can't throw at her. Oh, well. Begging is maxed however.

Another quick way to max begging is beg your merc. Same gos for language

I know langs work with mercs, but begging does too? I recall back in the day, begging guards worked, but occasionally they'd get irritated and aggro.

You can beg pets and mercs. I have never seen a skill up from a merc, I have seen skill ups from a mage pet.
Beastlord pets work also ...
