Thinking of coming backFollow

#1 Jul 18 2013 at 6:32 PM Rating: Decent
I'm thinking of coming back for fun, maybe get back into raiding from time to time if I ever level up that much..

My question is (may have been covered and I missed it)..

Does anyone know how I can find a guild that will let me come along with them these days just for the social aspect?

I should also ask, can you still solo and get a bit out of the game on classes such as warrior?

Hello and welcome back,

I think your better off just applying to join one of the guilds where the returning players start at..Every regular rules server has a couple. You can go in the guild lobby or even POK and ask in /ooc which guild(s) have many returning players and usually some kind people would answer you.

Most guilds would want you to take part and play with them (while socializing) as opposed to just requesting to join a guild solely to socialize.

Warriors were never a solo class in EQ but with the advent of Mercenaries, they can solo w/merc just fine..like any class nowadays.

Good luck and enjoy.

I would stay away from a warrior. Instead I would recommend either:

Paladin: Insane dmg vs undead with the slay undead AA line, a fast cast strong root at 65, heals, hp and ac buffs and 90 % res.

Shadow Knight: Mortal Coil lifetap from weapon dmg, at higher levels ive seen SK's pull like 30 mobs at once its crazy to watch, feign death for when it goes bad, a little ***** pet think "pet dot", a snare line, a lot of ways to dmg a mob.

Ranger: Head shot AA at higher levels, Decimate humanoid mobs, snare line, nice atk buff lines, a lot of cool spells.

Warrior isn't a solo toon. The 3 above can solo a lot faster & better at higher levels with there class AA lines.

I wouldn't be focused with end game stuff. In WoW peps journey to max level fast. Everquest's AA system makes the game a lot more rich. You need to make sure you have at least core AA's as you level. Level 65 is a popular place to stop to AA. If you are not a gold account, you are limited to 1000AA.

It will take a long time to get to level 100, so enjoy the game and relax!

There are many guilds around on different servers that will welcome back returning players. I am in one such guild on povar.
Make sure you read then re-read the threads here for returning players and the "did you know" for changes that have been made in game.

Play what you like. Within 3 days or about 30 hours you will be level 50 plus. I find my bl can solo some areas my paladin can not, but a tank is always welcome in any group, but dont level too fast and neglect the defensive aa's. As a warrior you will be very dependent on a healer merc once past level 50.

Guilds: Black Dragon Legion on Stromm server is very open to all levels
Playing a Vah Shir: Bard is fun option. /melody is your friend.
High end content with groups or raids: Again, people do want bards for that.
