As the subject says, if you were going to build one, what class would you pick and how would you gear it?
With or without merc? A long time ago a 52 monk with lots of heal pots took out nagafen or vox. This was before aa's.
Today with some aa's and a merc? I think I would try a beastlord, a necro or a mage. Mage for starters. But my memory on the dragons resists is very bad. Never had a successful raid under my belt on Vox over 4 tries.

I'm going with cleric at 52 with a soulstripper 1hb and full intricate defiant armor and shield. The rest of the slots items 50+ in pok vendor or hotzone quest. If
no haste item in the mix would run highest tribute haste possible.
I would get Virtue, Tranquility, Spiritual Dominion, Replenishment, Focus of Soul, Strength of Tunare and Speed of Vallon.
I would use skinspike potions and heal over time potions when the refresh timer comes back up, of course my heals when needed.
Ward of Divine is a nice cleric spell at 50. I wouldn't waste time with my zero check to magic nukes surely the dragons would resist!
I dont think stuns can land on a dragon either.

If you're doing this as a challenge then I would say a lv52 war merc with a support class would be best. I'd say shaman. Tank mercs below 60 don't need much if any healing and they do very good dps at those levels. A shaman would give you some heals and some more dps. If you just want one of the drops for a quest then see below:
tldr; Naggy and Voxx don't banish mercs
I had to get the Naggy book to finish the paladin epic when I was lv70. I had level locked at 52 for a long time and attended many pickup Naggy raids but never got the drop. To do it years later I shrouded to lv50 along with a couple guild members. The three of us went with a 4th guild member who was lv85 (It was Seeds of Destruction at the time). The lv85 went to the base of the stairs before Naggy's room and marked himself as puller then ran back toward the zone in, out of banishment range. The three of us that were shrouded pulled the Magus etc out into the hallway and killed each of them there. The lv 85 J5 merc healed us and of course never came close to running out of mana. Once Naggy was alone it took us around twenty minutes to kill him. Every time he AE'd the merc would say her panic script and run away for about five seconds, and then return and keep healing. None of us died.
Now in the RoF 2013 era I imagine this would be even easier. Get someone with J5 dps merc and they will likely one shot the adds and kill Naggy in seconds. Naggy/Voxx have 32k hp and my rogue merc does ~10k dps on lv 100 trash, my wizard merc does ~22k dps on lv 100 trash. This would also get around Voxx chain CH'ing (which she is known to do).

This is something I actually do quite often. I use silver accounts so I can't say if j1 merc would make it better but I have tried several different classes and i usually need 2 people to be able to do it. If it is just the dragon one person and a merc is fine but more often then enough its dragon, named giant, and 2 regular giants (this is with naggy).
I normally use a 52 berserker and 52 SK. The berserker basically just autoattacks while I control the ShadowKnight. The berserker has a melee merc app5 and the SK had app5 cleric merc. I would stay away from using caster class because the resists are ridiculous on naggy. Even landing lifetap is hit or miss on him. I have full intricate defiant gear on both the berserker and SK. The berserker has his epic 1.0 and the SK has a blade of disruption. IF your on a paid account there are some +12 sv resist augs you can buy in bazaar however on silver they are not useable. I have not really tried vox as the adds are so thick in the room with her.
