I'm in the mood to do some fabled hunting this year, but am having a hard time sorting through the fabled mob listing here to see what might be worth camping. I don't care about alt gear, all I want is some "fun" items, whether those be some good clickies like illusions, or a cool trophy to hang on the wall in my house.

I think the only Fabled gear I have atm is the Fabled Ball of Golem Clay and the Fabled Binden Concerrentia.

I'd prefer open zones over raid zones (like PoTime), so I can run around and track to see what's up.

Anyone have any ideas, or a list maybe someone has already compiled?

Also, am I remembering correctly that Planes of Power was the last expansion to receive the Fabled treatment?

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/index.php?threads/looking-for-an-old-thread.4621/ has some good links, including a fabled clickies link.

As I recall alot of the clickies are in inside or dungeon like zones. Greig's End being one of the exceptions of an outside dungeon zone. You can look at the list to try find ones that fit your criteria.

Yes, PoP was the last expansion to receive Fableds, due to the scripting used to make them Fabled already being used normally in zones after PoP.

Well... I took a look at that list, which gave me some good ideas: mostly that I needed to go to Vex Thal to get the really good clickies (ivu, haste, food summoning, lol).

So since I had never gone through VT when it was current I had to learn how to get through the place. I was able to find some good info on some class sites that guided me on how to get to the bosses and unlock the doors and all that. So far I haven't been able to kill any Fableds in there, but I have been getting familiar with the zone, which helps.

I merc'd Fabled Agnarr in BoT and he dropped the Fabled Bow which is the whole reason I went up the tower. It was actually a long fight and I had to keep switching my merc into passive so it could regain a little mana while I kept myself healed and only used my arrow spells for dps. If I had burned, both me and my merc would have run out of mana around 40% I think.

So mostly I have just been skipping around the high zones of Velious, Luclin, and PoP, peeking in to track and see what's up. I've killed more fabled than I can count at the moment, but most of the loot was rather unnoteworthy at this stage of the game. Got a couple pieces here and there that I can hang on my wall. I have been collecting mostly all of the fabled weapons I come across (got a few from the multiple bosses in BoT).

Places that have been on my regular route:

Iceclad - Stormfeather (what can I say I'm a glutton for torture, lol)
PoEarth
PoFire
PoStorms
Kael
ToV

I also just looked into the Coirnav event in PoWater and I think I can merc that one for sure.

Hopefully I'll be able to actually kill some fabled in VT before it goes back to normal.

Yea, VT is the clicky zone :) My Iksar War still needs the Invis clicky from there, or one of the newer even more rare ones from Mechanical Guardian or the few other places.

Good luck.

So I tried some EP stuff...

Avatar of Earth was a relatively easy fight, but I learned very quickly that he has a crapton of HP, so I had to keep switching my merc from efficient to passive just so I could last the whole fight. I also had to curb my own mana usage, because if I had burned it I would have been oom at 60% of his health. It took me 39 mins to kill him.

So after I did that I thought "hmm maybe Coirnav will be doable".... after the adds were finally down, I was only able to get him down like 10% before he booted me out of the zone. I don't think I'll be able to finish that event in 14 mins this year. Maybe next. (probably not, lol)

Next on my list was Fabled RZ. But when I got to tactics, TZ and VZ were both up, so I went after them first. I figured if I could take out the twins, then Dad should be no problem... I was wrong, lol.

So I started with VZ.

It was easy to tell which was the real one because 2 conned grey, 2 conned green, and the real one conned light blue. And of course they all pulled together. So I would knock the fakes out and take care of the real one. It took me at least 15 mins to do each round (same strat as above with switching merc stance to conserve mana), then I would have to wait until Tallon's Balance wore off so I could med to full between rounds (usually about 9 mins).

The first time I did the event, I made a mistake on the last wave:

I was able to somehow pull the green VZ's without the real one agroing, and I thought "oh I could kill these 2 and leave up the real one until after and it could save me some effort on the healing". Big mistake. Half way through killing the second fake, the real depopped. It had been almost 2 hours at that point, and I gave up for the night, as I already had stayed up longer than I had expected from this fight.

So I went back the next day, he was still up, and I didn't make the same mistake. I killed him, and he dropped the fabled sword for me (wall deco lol). So the second fight took a little over 2 hours with my T2 raid weapons and level 100 spells.

TZ was simple compared to VZ. I stood by the stairs and shot him with my bow disc running. It still took me a full refresh to kill him though (20 min for disc). But I didn't need the merc at all. And he dropped the fabled bow, so no need to kill him anymore, lol.

Next up I tried to do the RZ event.

After clearing the wings and pulling TZ and VZ, they went into the middle room. They were just too much to handle at once with both of their debuffs running. It took me 10 mins to get 1 down to 90% and both me and merc were almost oom. I Zeka'd out, and decided that RZ will also have to wait at least until next year, lol.

I still have to look at my parses to get total times, but these fights were a lot longer than I had expected. At first I was surprised that AoE took so long, but then after doing VZ, I now have a better idea of what some of you guys went through when it was current, because it actually took some effort, not like the normal versions of the mobs that are around the rest of the year.

I still have VT and some other stuff on my list to do, but I have been having a little trouble finding them up, so the Planes was my next best option to find a lot of Fableds up that are at least worth the effort of killing.

The anniversary events have been extended until may 26th this year. So I expect that this includes the fabled mobs.

Think this is 3rd year in a row, and basically missed 5 of the last 6 I think. Last few years, just haven't been playing but the other 2 years were due to computer crashes right around Fabled time. Without new content though, I haven't really been into it, and with defiant gear, there isn't much worthwhile other than clickies for later on. Still a few good lower level augs though.

First few years was overly camped, but at least people were cooperative, and for the most part waited in line respectively like they were at an amusement park.
