Poll: Which spell buff icons do you use: Follow

For reference, the "old" icons are used here on allakhazam next to the names of spells when you search for them. Here's one:

The "new" icons are the ones that come with the default UI. You can roll back to the "old" icons just by copying nine files into your UI file found in your Everquest->uifiles folder, usually called "default" unless you renamed it. The files involved are the versions of spells##.tga (## going from 01 to 07) and gemicons##.tga, with ## going from 01 thru 03. The file versions I use are dated 10/27/2005, which presumably was the date EQ introduced the new spell icons. You do have to recopy these over after every patch that affects these folders which means save those 2005 versions someplace safe!

Gem icons are what are displayed in your spell bar. Spells##.tga are displayed as buffs/debuffs.

Not to warp the poll but personally I detested this change. The new icons were so complicated and there are so many that I could never get use to them. Thankfully, Sony continues to assign "old" icons as well as new ones to every new spell even those for level 100.

The old ones are easier to tell apart in my opinion. But it might just be more of a consistency thing for me. I never got used to the extra gold filigree and shading on all the newer icons. I use these ones specifically:

I use T.King's v2.5 icons and have since they were first released.

I use default old ui as well. I use all classic models with old school 800 X 600 resolution.

I use whatever the default is.
