Just kind of wondering what your clerics spell order on the spell bar is?

I mostly on box my Clr, so some may be different, but basically, quick heal, CH, promised heal, HoT, are the first four when get to a level to get all of them. In the 40s+, it was just Heal, CH, HoT for the first 3.

Rest of the slots depends on situation, but usually, a RDS, and Stun, then others depending on whether undead or not.

See Ythers list for heals. I keep root, at least one stun and reverse ds memorized and with my aa spell expansion I keep my hammer or aoe proc up.

First are my buffs, and then Vow of Valor, Reverse DS, my summonable hammer to pull mobs, and root. Couple others I'm forgetting here, but usually buffs -> self only buffs -> stuff to harm the mobs/pulling mobs stuff

Miss Jackies set is close to what I use when I am tanking. However I do carry the delayed heal and my regular heal for those times when vow of valor is not healing, or the mobs are hitting harder than it can heal.

For the 85 cleric:
1) Mark of the Unsullied
2) Remedy
3) Light
4) Promised
5) Elixir
6) Panic heal (Eleventh-Hour)
7) Group Elixir
8) Group Heal
9) Twincast nuke (Glorious Denunciation in this case)
10) Stun (Sound of Reverberance on her)
11) Hot swap slot (usually Ward spell in group situations)
12) DA (Divine Eminence)

The 90, 80, and 76 clerics use the same basic setup (fewer slots in some cases). The 90 has Finrar's Retort usually in the 11 slot. At that level, the ward spell is basically useless.

EQ really really REALLY REALLY needs to introduce a proper upgrade to COMPLETE HEAL. That name is laughable these days...

Never happen. In order to live up to its name, it would have to have a base heal somewhere in the neighborhood of 30,000hp (perhaps even double that) to account for healing adept/gift and foci. People at 95 are maxing out at what, 180k nowadays? Also, the content doesn't allow for that kind of spell to exist and be useful. No one would lock themselves into a 10 second cast, no matter how much the spell healed for, pretty much. Stuff hits too hard and too fast. CH was phased out completely by obsolescence and content design. Making an upgrade would require creating a niche for it and as you well know, a mob that a typical tank can stand in on for 10 seconds with no heals and live, isn't a very challenging mob. If you cut the cast time and/or made it immune to foci, now the base heal has to be even bigger to make up for that.

I always saw the promised line as the spiritual successor to CH. Think about it. Average clerics are as dependent on it as they used to be on CH, it takes "too long" to deliver its results, but when it hits (and crits), it's something to behold.

And CH's name has been laughable since mid-Luclin. You "needed" 7k hp warriors to tank AoW in Velious. Once you got to Grieg or the Burrower event or THO (the Deep in general, actually), tanks were sporting 8k or so hp after farming Kael for a few months.

On raids the true cast time of COMPLETE HEAL was always a factor of how many clerics in the CH chain. If you had 5 clerics in the chain and they were on the ball, a COMPLETE HEAL would land on the tank every two seconds. That's pretty good healing even when fighting a tough raid boss. Throw in a few shamans and druids on spot healing duty with fast-cast heals and you end up with a tank who is essentially unkillable, as long as he can't be instantly one-rounded.

I don't see how the PROMISED RESTORATION family of spells is any kind of replacement for COMPLETE HEAL because PR cannot be chain-cast due to its very nature. Casting one PR on top of another just further delays the promised heal!

If they upgraded COMPLETE HEAL even just to 60k (the more the better)) it definitely could be used on hard-hitting named mobs as long as a large enough number of clerics were working together in a chain.

A COMPLETE HEAL chain was always a tedious task for clerics but when it was well-handled it worked literally "magic" on fighting boss mobs that could otherwise tear even a well-geared tank apart in seconds---as long as he had enough HPs to survive "instant death" in the form of a one-round attack.

Its a good thing CH has been phased out. Back in the day healing on a cleric used to be unbearably boring. CH CH CH CH CH CH CH CH oh wait the DPS took damage start casting a HoT... NVM druid got it CH CH CH CH CH CH.

No offense here Sippin but you didn't actually play a cleric as main during that period, did you? I did, and it was easily the most boring and monotonous experience possible in something that calls itself 'entertainment'. There was a reason the cleric burnout rate was so ridiculously high at the high end back then. During PoP, on several servers (Veeshan, Mith Marr, Tunare, Torv, Xegony, etc), when a cleric looted a Blackflame Sphere, there was almost a guarantee you'd see that cleric on PlayerAuctions in record time. Couple that with the typical 'none of the credit, all of the blame' attitude that existed in many guilds and it's no wonder everyone always found themselves short on that particular class.

Ever notice how when clerics burn out or switch mains, it's almost always to a DPS class? Going from the most boring class in the game at the time to one of the most engaging and exciting roles in the game, makes perfect sense to me.

On poorly geared tanks, you'd have to cast an elixir between CHs but yeah, this was pretty much it. You could use lights but then you'd be inefficient (and it still wouldn't be fun). They added the proc hammers and it still didn't improve anything because if you're meleeing, you're not regenning mana at a decent rate (and Yaulp was abysmal for anyone with a decent sized mana pool) and eventually the group has to stop because you're low on mana.

Yeah, CH chains were "like magic"......except for the people actually doing it.

EDIT to add:

More on topic, my 95 cleric's lineup is:

1) Promised Restitution
2) Fourteenth Catalyst
3) Zealous Light
4) Fervent Renewal
5) Word of Rehabilitation
6) Elixir of the Beneficent
7) Zealous Elixir
8) Divine Invocation
9) Shining Armor
10) Galvos' Retort
11) Unified Hand of Credence
12) Hand of Faithful Infusion

All Rk II except Zealous Elixir which is Rk III (she was on Tunare before I moved her and I've raided a little with her). The last two slots are the hot swap slots so can change, but most of the time, those two spells are there.

No, I only boxed a cleric. Cuz CH chains were boring. Note I said this in my earlier post!

But it was effective. Some clerics took pride in how well they managed it since even one delayed CH, due to lag or missing a chain command, could wipe the raid.

Some clerics took pride at hitting a button one time at set intervals? I mained a cleric for years there was literally no skill involved 90% of the time playing a cleric, and that goes double for raids. I hit my hotkey every time i saw my name in chat, thats literally all i did to heal the main tank.

Cleric is a challenging class to play in group content, as one mistake usually means folks dying. So yes I take great pride in being a cleric and receiving compliments for playing one well. It is a bit more than pushing a button, though in raids that's what it often became. But you had to be paying attention.

I am playing a raid cleric in PoP right now on Fippy. I am the lead cleric during raids. We run a 5 cleric Rot on 12 sec pause in Time. I have 2 clerics out of Rot on patch heals and battle rez.

My lineup in a group is:

DA
CH
Group HoT
HoT
Light
Remedy
Pet hammer
yaulp

For raid:

DA
CH
Group heal
HoT
Light
Remedy
open for buffs/cures
yaulp

I wouldn't go so far as to say no skill was involved that much. A lot depended on who you grouped with. Many times, as a raiding cleric, I grouped with non-raiders who were significantly less geared than I was. I remember several XP groups where I had the highest AC in the group (and sometimes even the most HP). In those situations, you really had to stay on your toes as sometimes an errant round or two meant the tank's hp went from 80% to 40% <Madden>BOOM!</Madden> just like that.

But I'm old school enough to recall that years passed without clerics receiving any improvements outside of heals because of that one godforsaken spell. Any time clerics asked for improvements in the solo game (or just stuff that didn't involve straight heals), classes like druids would scream bloody murder and all point to the presence of one spell as the reason why the class should not get anything outside of healing. Guess what that spell was? It was only when the devs farmed out bastardized versions of said spell to the other two priest classes (and prepared for the phasing out of the spell at the same time - ask Rashere) did clerics get the proc hammers and things like Divine Avatar and later, the Vow line. If that spell was still as powerful (and exclusive) now as it was then, the cleric class would be ignored into obsolescence. Then people can clamor to be able to bring their mercs everywhere. I love the cleric class. I love priests in general. My main character in AD&D 2nd edition all those years ago, was a cleric. My first toon to 60 in WoW...was a shadow priest. I have a long history with the cleric class in EQ. I've seen it develop then regress then develop over the years. Complete Heal was an albatross around the class's neck for years, being the one thing other classes could focus on as the key component of the class. That hasn't been the case for quite some time, and I'm happy about that. Now, it's the SKs and Rangers and, of late, the Berserkers who have to deal with that crap.

Good info everyone. Since returning a couple of months ago I have found my once raiding cleric main (level 77) is nearly useless and I have no idea how to play her now!

I agree they should introduce a greater form of complete heal, as the promised heal business isn't very effective in raids. I used to love being in the CH chain in raids back in the day, a proper group of clerics working together in-sync was a very exciting and beautiful sight to behold! I don't know what these others are saying about a heal chain being boring, the focus and reaction time it takes was very exhilirating. Oh man, and when one ever fizzled... talk about an adrenaline rush! I do miss the old raidin' days.
