Finding a place to gain expFollow

So I got my warrior and rogue to lvl 76 now. Between them have a j1 healer merc and a app5 melee merc. Trying to find a good place to gain exp. Direwind has started to become lightblue and the exp gain has slowed down to a crawl. I was told I should try ashengate but I couldn't even get there because of the two yelllow con giant statues that hit for 3kish that guard the place (its also my understanding mobs inside ashengate hit just as hard). My warrior is 76 has CA CS maxed shield specialist block/specialist maxed, planar power maxed, pretty much anything that looked like defense or hitpoints is maxed minus those 5 to 7 aa per 100hitpoint things. He has 580ish AA total. MY rogue has 480ish AA CA CS is at 8 and most everything else is in things to add DPS. Both have a good chunk of AA into the strikethru aa's.

Anyways having trouble finding things I can actually tank. Tried loping plains goblin fort and can handle single or double pulls however its about impossible to only pull singles or doubles there. When I pull doubles HAve to be right on the ball or will wipe, takes merc half mana to get through it.

Any recommendations? Starting to get really annoyed, I just want to lvl up. With buffs warrior has around 16kish hitpoints and 2780ish ac. Felt like I was doing good spending all that time grinding out all these AA points to get warrior up to par for tanking and still struggle to tank something blue sometimes. Gear wise he has a mixture of the elegant defiant and the glowing othini stuff. Weapon and shield are both from the revamped Cazic Thule drops (same goes for the rogue).

Dragonscale Hills, at the farm, was my grind of choice for this range.

As a Cleric from at around 73/150 to 81/400 it was excellent XP, and I had no problems soloing it, with a merc early and without one later on.

Make sure you get the three repeatable quests from the guy up the hill, and expect this area to be camped regularly - but if you can get into a group it goes very very quickly.

Ashengate is faster XP, but almost requires a group. Get a bard to sprint you past the guardians or a wizard to port you directly there

Another good xp option if D/Hills is camped is the Spider camp (Icefall Crawlers) in Icefall Glacier.

They also hit a bit softer than Loping Plains mobs and they have lower hps and decent loot (incl 71-74 Rk2 spells). The spiders on the ledge near the tunnels where Glacier spawns are all 75-78 while most roaming spiders elsewhere can be as low as lvl 72. If your at that camp (on the ledge above the igloos) and run out of spiders, there are also "Animated Icepiles" in the tunnels from the spider camp that are 76-78 and hit a bit harder than the spiders iirc. So at 76 you should never run out of mobs if 2 boxing with a merc.

Forgot to add : The named icegolem "Glacier" can spawn from any of the "Animated Icepiles"... And about 1 in every 4 or 5 spiders see thru invis.

Good luck.

Dragonscale hills farm has turned lb, I might go take a look at icefall glacier though that sounds pretty promising.

Icefall spiders should be good, also several other Icefall camps (mammoths, bears, wolves)

You could try Valdeholm ( the giant zone just up from icefall) but those might hit a bit hard yet.

Keep snagging the AA's so you can tank, it's a must have for higher tanking levels.

Just to note about DSH, the quest is where the exp is. The mobs quit being good xp by about 67 or 68.

In Loping Plains, do the Worgs, they're easier to single, if you avoid the duplicate spawn, that looks like a trio on the NW side of the hill between the quest NPCs and the wereorcs. They can be done, but you have to watch as sometimes, each mob is actually 2 or 3, because for some reason that spot has spawns exactly on top of each other sometimes. I've seen as many as 8 from what looks like 3 mobs. You can also camp in the SW corner of the zone, for way easier singles, but kiters like that spot due to the flat area. And, it's a long run back to the quest NPCs.

Ashengate has multiple ways to get past the guardians, and the mobs inside don't hit near as hard the guardian until you get deep inside. The most common is to have some run speed, and if possible snare one of them, then kite them around in a big circle on the south side of the gate, then run through the gate to the ramp and up to Ashengate, out running the guardians. Another way, and what I generally do with toons that will spend much time there (back when Ashengate was very popular or when I knew I might raid it) is to do the quest(s) for The Ashengate Seal. There's also a spot (requires levitation to get to), at around 968, -507, 242 in-game location or a map file location of:
P 507, -968, 242, 0, 0, 240, 3, Portal
You have to come to the point from the Tent to south of it, and to get to the tent, you have to climb up the hill from the W-NW of the tent.

Some other good places to go:

Plane of Fire is ok at 76. Riftseeker's is good until 80+, but requires alot of moving at your level or higher, as you'll run out of mobs. Also good zone to work on the Non-Lore augs, if you're missing some 20+ and 25+ ac augs. Also a great AC aug in AG not from from the entrance to the left (West wing), but may be too tough to two box at 76. The Gyrospire (Beza / Zeka) zones or instances off of Fortress Mechanotus are great at that level, and good drops there even at the ground level.

Unless I'm missing something, there is no Wizard port to Ashengate. Off the top of my head, the evac point in Direwind is the South entrance to the zone.

Maybe he means bind right outside Ashengate and get a wizard to TL you to your bind, if you don't have gate?

I was in a group the left from pok to direwind via port. The port dropped us just outside Ashengate zone in. Does the wizard port drop you there?

Druids port to Direwind. Wizards port to Icefall. There is NO wizzy spire in Direwind but there is one in Icefall. There IS a druid ring in Direwind.

If you got ported to "just outside Ashengate zone in", you were the beneficiary of a wizard casting TLB: translocate group to (the wizard's) bindpoint.

A very useful and much under-appreciated ability!
