Hello!
I haven't downloaded the game yet and I don't know if I'll be able to log in even if I download it now because of some weird LaunchPad glitch going on, at least with EQ2 it happened when I DL'd that game and tried to get on (SoE said they patched it the other day but it's still not working for many people), so I gave up and will try EQ1 this time, especially since my PC is not upgraded, so I don't know if it could've handled EQ2 to begin with.
Anyway, if (IF!) I ever get in, I'd like to join a nice guild because I never played EQ before... well, technically I did play it before, around 2006 or so, when I left EQOA (EQ version for the PS2 console)! Though I just played [EQ for PC] for around 3-4 hours and no one was there to group with. I hate soloing for long periods of time! I get so bored and it's lonely! I'm somewhat of a social person and totally enjoy the company of others while adventuring, grinding xp or questing. :-)
So, just for future reference, I wanted to let you know I'd like to give your guild a try if I ever get on the game.
I personally wish they had specific servers where soloing was basically impossible so it forced everyone to group up with each other! Of course this server would be optional to join, so it would be by choice, no forced on everyone. I'd join it in a heartbeat. I know I'd have to wait for people to group with to xp grind but, I know what that's like already since I played EQOA back from 2003 to 2006, and it pretty much was just like that: do quests and then go back to major cities or coaching spots and /shout "LFG!" even if it took 30 mins. or an hour to find a group, I had no problem with that. I just did something until I found a group. I'd rather do that than solo my way through the levels!
I don't want to be power leveled either (not that I'm implying you'd do that, just expressing what I despise), nor do I want some xp potion boosts. I enjoy experiencing the game the way it was meant to be experienced: one kill of a mob in group grinding at a time; one quest at a time! The journey matters quite a bit more to me than the destination alone. I do not like being rushed. I so wish the game just came out so I could group with everyone being newbs together and not knowing anything. I remember this feeling when EQoA first came out in 2003 and I played with everyone else not knowing where anything else was; it was new to all of us! I loved that feeling. But hey, can't always get what I want, I know. :-)
I'm glad EQ is still going though, so now I can try it out fully like I did not back then (sadly). I went to WoW back in 2006 and played 'til 2008. After that I dropped my MMORPGing for quite a few years until the "bug" bit me again and I want to give it another try!
As you can see, I had to basically vent here, but these are forums, that's what they're meant for! lol
