Rated up since active recruiting is good for the game.

Update your status every 29 days to avoid the necro warning as some posters have been known to rate down upon seeing that. Just tell us a couple of guild hilights for the last few weeks if you want to keep this thread rolling.

Good luck with your recruiting!

Listing the time zone most of the guild plays in will also help folks. I am thinking of coming back, just trying to figure out what to do.

I highly encourage coming back!

(Jonwin and I have crossed paths in several guilds for those not possessing photographic alla memories of past threads).

It's lethargy. I forgot my password and calling Sony for it is a hassle. Thankfully I do have a cancelled check with my original CC so I can get it.

Dangit!!! I was on the Drinal server and then moved my 3 toons to FV. A casual family-style guild is what I was used to in the past. I could roll a new toon on Drinal, but it took me 6 years+ to get my main to 78 (6 years to 61 and 3 months on FV to get to 78) so the thought of starting all over again is daunting.

But if you ever begin a guild on FV....

Well, what I am finding is that as long as I don't reroll something I already have higher-level it is easier to stick with it on a new server.

In the past I kept rolling chanters so I have at least 3 retired in the 60s across other servers and numerous abandoned below that. I would always hit the point "why am I not just playing my original chanter that has Epic 1.0 and tons of stuff done compared to this new character?".

So for me, there is a few "closed classes" (chanter, Bst, mnk, rng, necro --cleric is debatable as I have a 1.0 65 cleric that is my oldest EQ character surviving... but I haven't played it in years so I keep trying to play one on TLP)

Also, 1-50 is so insanely fast now if you use skinspike potions and either get buffs or use the pots. 50-65 varies by class, but I haven't used mercs yet. From what I can tell... they trivialize the 1-70 grind at least.

By the way, the Drinal guild (I looked at their site) has a gnome-only sub-militia in their guild. Hilarious. That almost tempts me to roll my SK there as a gnome (always wanted to do greenmist).

Honestly that was the old set up,but (between you and me) im trying to get things the way it was,but not having much luck..

As for Time Zone its mostly EST,tho there are others whom play on diff zones(as most servers ,guilds, etc)

And, truthfully, if you're re-rolling to play with people you know, and rolling a class you already know, just get PL'ed. I box 3 accounts, and have level 51s with a few dozen AA's that have less than 10 hours play time on them.

A few hours more to 60, and then you can group with anyone.

Not sure what you mean by trying to get things the way it was but not having much luck?

I am in EST zone :)

Snailish & Tatanka - I hear ya, but since I solo I level soooooo slowly and like you said, Snailish, I start thinking, "Why am I not using the time to develop my 78 Druid that I've been working on for over 7 years now." OTOH, a new friend and I am trying to find a time to partner up - maybe rolling a new toon together would be fun. I'm with you - there are certain classes/races that I just won't play. I've ALWAYS wished gnomes could be Druids. I think that would be such fun. You listening, SOE???????

*Mutters darkly again about transferring to the FV server - but there are pros and cons to both*

I'll predict that Eubedyen is working hard to recruit and re-establish a stronger logged in player base in his guild. Having peeked at the guildportals site, they have been around since 2001 so are probably a well-known name on the server. But like all servers, most people would rather stay in their basically dead guilds then merge up into a more active format.

SoE could address this by allowing in-game guild mergers with the option of showing the tags.

So it would read like this: Snailish <Seekers of Stars> [of <There in no Fifth Star>].

Sure the showtags would get really long, but that's not the point. /gu chat would be the "master guild". If your little guild was 5th into the merger then you would use /gu5 to talk to just your original guild tag folk... if any remain. That's assuming hardcoding chat channels in is even needed... I could say more but this has become a big derail.

Rolling a new character with a RL friend is fun. Having the conviction to not outlevel each other is the trick, especially if you have different play amounts and/or times.

You are correct Snailish.

Then again only having a "few" on,on a regular basis...imo is not to good.I would like to grow the guild and have fun helping others grow and progress as well.
As far as in-game mergers i am all for it.I think it would be a great idea, esp for those whom have "Sister guilds"

Azalysa

what i am trying to say is..
The guild "had" a council..i would love to get that going again. But have ran into a dead end.
Would love to get "Class Leaders"...again dead end
I want to get LoMH to be an Guild again not just an "Guild" where a few members log on and group and thats it..

I think you are going about it the right way (posting here for one).

An EST mostly, casual accepting, family guild that wants to work together should appeal to a lot of people. Drinal is a healthy, regular rules server so restarting there is viable, as is moving characters* there.

*Last time I paid to move some characters, I had rolled a few new characters there first to get the pulse of the server community. That was Povar.

Thank you (and Snailish) for clarifying. :)

I'm currently in a guild on FV and, while it is not a "raiding" guild, the goals of most of the members are different than mine, although there are no requirements placed on me and I can go along my merry way. I just remember the good times I had in two family guilds on the old Tarew Marr (now Drinal) back in the day, but it was not as organized (class leaders, etc.) as you are working on yours. I miss the more "social" aspects - guild chat being about anything and everything and not necessarily all EQ.

If I don't make it over to Drinal, I wish you much success in building your guild!

Will any LoMH be on tonight? I'm off in 5 hours and would be interested in starting a toon on Drinall. Do you have any class needs?

Oh, MDT zone.

I might be interested as I have some toons on Drinal, however, I tend to split my playtime between my toons on Drinal(the highest of which is a 37 Ranger) and those I have on Stromm, so I'm not always playing on that server.
