I just soloed the captive event in nurga where you bring the three certain things from named mobs all over the mines and when you hand them in a goblin seargent and 4 reavers pop out. After dispatching all 6 waves and the overseer nothing happened except the captive changed races. the only message i got after finishing the event was..

The mine overseer and his minions have been successfully defeated...An enslaved miner has been successfully freed.

Any ideas on what should have happened or didnt are much appreciated.

What you did, the Free the Nurgan Slaves quest, is actually sort of a prequest. It frees one slave who is immediately replaced by one of the remaining slaves. Once freed, however, each slave returns to whichever Kunark zone they came from and becomes the quest npc for a revenge quest, which has a reward at the end. If you follow the above link, look under related quests for the Vengeance of [insert slave name here] quests. Some of the rewards are still decent, especially those with focus effects not easily attainable otherwise.
