Solo XP slowdownFollow

Hello again,

My bard has just reached 52 recently and it seems that solo xp has slowed down a bit. I am wondering if this is to be expected or am I just not hunting in the best area.

Once I hit 49 and got the longer lasting Selo's, I began hunting in PoD, swarm kiting the flies. I was ecstatic when I saw I was getting 3% per kill! Now at 52, I am only receiving 1% per kill on the same mobs. Is this about the best I can hope for right now or should I search for something different? Is 1% a kill solo what I can expect from now on?

Thanks for any advice guys. I always appreciate you insight.

aye....pretty much the best you can expect at that lvl. Just wait. It gets much worse.

It does get slower soloing those levels.

You may want to try your hand at the Poachers in Jaggedpine.

There are a ton of them. They don't hit very hard, and don't have a lot of hit points.

As an added bonus, there is a no-drop Illusion: Half Elf mask that drops off a named there.

Wait until you hit 59 then 69..just ick levels. You also might want to try some hot zones like The Hole. The exp bonus should help even though you may only be able to do singles there. I've never played a bard so I don't really know how well they solo without kiting.

i find that xp after 50 is crummy in general. I was able to get to 50 in no time on my zerker and now it's taking forever

and do not forget, that the mobs level also plays a role. iirc if the mob is within a 5 lvls range, then you get more exp.

From my understanding (which could be completley wrong) it takes as much XP (point wise, not %)to get from 50 - 60 as it does to get from 1 - 50.

Take that with a grain of salt, because it's just a rumor that I've heard (over and over albeit).

So they say.

Who they are, one will never know.

Stuck @ 54 and 1/3rd of a level on my chanter. Even with the double exp bonus thingy, exp is way slow.

It slowed down the minute I hit 51 and has been a struggle since. Life is way to busy for me to sit and grind exp for hours on end. I am lucky to have 45 minutes to an hour to play every other day.

I have completed 2 AA points for runspeed but want to hit level 55 before I go after the third. I get a new pet @ 55 which will help against stronger mobs.

I am hunting in Dulaks going after Dk. Blues. Much easier then grouping in Plane of Innovation and exp is about the same. Remember there are full groups in PoI because the mobs hit really hard. I am soloing in Dulak.

Staying away from MM quests as I don't trust LDON's and instanced zones for some reason. My computer doesn't like it for some reason and crashes to desktop every time despite file checks, etc...

Bub, this is what I did with my wizzie starting at 50:

1 - go to Scarlet Desert - hotspot - (take guildhall stone or port or run), fully buffed (Kei and HP buffs)
2 - get on top of the mesa in the middle of SD
3 - pull either the tro jegs or the revenants
4 - shortly before first one is dead, cast lesson of devoted
5 - kill mobs, until oom
6 - camp
7 - wait 70 mins (do the dishes, iron shirts, ring your mom)
8 - start at 3, because now you're FM.

exp is good until 59, tro jegs turn LB at 56, revenants at 59.

ok, granted, wizzies can quad kite, so this suits them downright, but I believe this method is also valuable for other classes. this enabled me to do things at home AND get decent exp.

be safe

PS: downside is, that people on friends or guildies will send comments like "oh no, not SD again..." or "ah, your 5 minutes in the spotlight, ey.." Smiley: waycool

Unfortunatly the higher you get the slower the xp is. But fortunatly for you that you are a Bard. Swarm kiting is still probably the best solo xp in the game.

The best place for you right now is PoN Nightstalkers. They are all level 51 and there is a good ZEM (zone xp modifier)in PoP zones. I guarantee this will be the best solo xp you will find for the next 5 or so levels. Don't get frustrated by frequent charm resists but that is what happens when you charm mobs so close to your level.

I am level 70 and can solo 2 1/2 AA's per hour but I'm not ready to give up my hot spot yet for fear it will turn into another PoN and have Bards lining up for there turn.

swarm kiting can be the fastest xp in the game, if you get good you can kill a mob a minute as long as you have mana, but now you can log off for an hour and your mana will replinish. I had a blast swarming through my fifties.
good spots for it are dulak, maidens eye, katta castelum and scarlet desert.

Levels 51 through 59 are slow exp 60 through 65 are faster not as fast as 1 to 50 were but faster then levels 51 to 59 levels 66 to 70 are slow again but AA points role in very fast in level 66 to 70 range.

You guys are great. I really appreciate the advice you've offered. I looked up the poachers in jaggedpine in the beastiary and they look to be a bit lower leveled than I expected.

I think I'll hop over to PoN and check out the werewolves and nightstalkers though.

Until next time...
