Odd thing toniteFollow

Hey I'm just wondering what you guys would have thought about this:

I was in West Karana trying to get my grubs on some pumpkin flesh. I'd been there about 30 mins or so, it was almost 2am so the zone was sparse. Then TOON zoned in. He's in zone for 5 mins or so prolly. Then he says in /ooc "hey you &%^&%$ farmers, get out of here so those that are really doing the quest can loot".

So, I did a /who and there were 5 of us in zone. Someone else says in /ooc "We are doing the quest". The TOON starts getting angry, shouting and saying that no one ever helps each other and we're all just greedy farmers. The other guy says, "I'm helping my friend and we're almost done." The TOON says, "yeah right - why can't your friend do it themself? You're just a farmer, no one ever helped me with anything!"

Well I met this guy about a month ago. He's level 65 now, but I helped him back when he was in his 40s kill some Wurms in Great Divide for a spell that drops there, I was working on the Shawl quest at the time so we worked together. Only I'm playing my druid not my pally tonite so he doesn't really know me.

Anyway, I sent him a /tell and said "dude, most are working on the quest here and how can you say no one has ever helped you - did you forget about Great Divide already?"

To which he replies I don't know him. This was his friends account and he gave it to him. That's cool, I figure he doesn't know my toon name. So I let it go. A few minutes later he sends a tell to my pally and says "I'm a good player man - I just hate farmers. My friend just gave me this account when he hit 65."

I didn't respond to him. But I thought it was really odd that he would send a tell to my pally who's afk in baz when if he wasn't the same guy he wouldn't even know who my main is, right?

Even assuming he was telling the truth -- He was given a lvl 65 character and complains that no one ever did anything for him? Smiley: dubious

Nothing wrong with farmers. You have to farm sometimes.

Farmers who are high level and hog every mob, sure. When I farm I make sure I am not running over joelevel20 who is getting xp.

Sounds like this guy has some skewed notions.

Sounds like a wingnut. I might try "/ignore TOON"

I enjoyed the irony of someone ******** about you farming while you are in the farmer's field in WK.

Heh only legit reasons I can think of in being in those fields is way old school quest I did that assume no one does anymore "belt of the river" hobbit druid quest. Oh and the scarecrows were decent exp to her at level I think was 17-18 so I guess that makes 2 reasons if you want to do some real old school exp at about 1/4-1/2the speed as PC exp for levels what 14-19 maybe. Certainly a level 65 whatever race or class is not there to do belt of the river quest or get exp so odds are they are out there to farm too. I will say I think there are some epic stuffs in WK too but really at best its pot screaming at top of lungs how black kettle is.

Just curious but your on Povar aren't you? I was in WK last night around 2ish and some guy was screaming about people farming the scarecrows. The funny thing is that, as you said, their were only a few people in zone. I was on the complete opposite end of the zone killing at the undead camp getting the drop for my armor book and another one of the people in zone was fairly close because I had seen him once or twice by my camp.

IIRC everyone in the zone was 60+ and I think they could find some place a little better to farm than scarecrows in WK.

Think of it this way ... remember how many idiots u saw before they were sucked into wow. running into an idiot like that is kinda like allakhazams retrospective like, it reminds us of the rougher days gone by.

Haha, well I suppose it is odd for that many high level players to be in Karana. It's part of the Halloween tasks that we were working on. Need to collect pumpkin flesh from the animated scarecrows. I'm on Prexus and the flesh does sell in baz between 4-9k typically. It's the worst part of the Halloween tasks but well worth the effort.

It results in a very nice item - Bone Mask of Horror but the quest brings out the bad side of people!

Kind of surprised your not on Povar because as I said the same exact thing happened on Povar around the same time last night. Just goes to show you, ignorance is everywhere, like it or not.

I believe it's happening on every server. The pumpkin flesh should've been no drop. Selling it for 4 - 9k is just plain greedy.

WK and Unrest scarecrows have been perma-camped since the quest came out. Most of the flesh and seeds do seem to make their way into the bazaar. We had an app that bragged about farming the pumpkin and beating a necro in our guild, to the pumpkins, when the necro was trying to get the flesh and seeds for his group to finish the quest. Needless to say, my vote on this particular app is going to be a resounding NO!

The farmers selling the seeds and flesh in the bazaar for exorbitant amounts should be shot. They are ******** up an otherwise fun quest.
