Hello all.
I have decided to try to do the spell research path to create a copy of the spell Command of Druzzil for myself.
In looking through the various combines for this one I see I need a "dirty empty vial", but no idea where to get one. Looking at EqTraders, they seem to know how much it vendors for, but no listing on where to get one.
As I work my way through all the subcombines I'll probably find a few more items like this, but while I'm doing that, does anyone out there already know where this can be found?

Basically, "Dirty Empty Vials" are produced in the process and there is a recipe to clean them back to just "Empty Vials".
I say "heck no", too many subcombines already. I mean:
Empty Vial

NPC's sell this at 2g9c
I am NOT doing even more subcombines (that involve subcombined things) to save a fraction of the cost of a 3gp item. Sell the Dirty Empty Vials back or destroy.
Before you do this, to have reasonable shot at a 64 combine, you really should have Arcane Tongues 3 (you may, I am not sure). The actual process has a ton of subcombines, but actually very straightforward. The EQTraders info is great, I can also recommend:

Which is Necromancer centric on recipes, but otherwise everything is the same.. and we can all make all the same spells with this system.

No kidding, I'm not really into roleplaying dishwashing.
Does doing these combines seem worth the effort or is it easier just to go out and get the turn in parchments (or just buy the spells from someone else)? It's alot of combining.
BTW subject line reminds me of how I felt many a Saturday morning back in college.

Many of these spells sell well for 5-50K. Some are Gates Geomancy Stone turn ins that not everyone sees, and others come from PoP turn ins that are totally random and sometimes fickle.
You have to decide "worth".. but.. we have a Guild Researcher, quickly moving towards Expert (250) that we hand all DoDH dirty parchments, Sulfur and Saltpeter drops to. Then we just make requests.
The value of this system is you make (or fail to make) a specific spell. If you do not immediately grasp the value in that, you have not turned in 30 Spectral Parchments hoping for that last 63-64 Spell that you really need, but is never for sale.

ok, i had my mage buy the spell research kit, and I am putting in a water flash, a gnomish heat source and an empty vial, to try and combine to make the vial of pure water. It says, "you cannot combine these items in this container type!" Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Pani, it might mean that that combine is brewing rather than research...
