OK loaded up eq to see if servers were up. They werent but I noticed my cursor was different. Much larger and gold now. I assume this is part of the new UI.

Anyway it advised me to download some new drivers for my VC. I noticed a serios lag when I dragged my new cursor over anything so I downloaded it.

THe download went well but the lag remains. There is about a 1 second delay when my cursor gets oversomething before it lights up.

any suggestions? this delay will get me kiled ing ame kinda quick.

Can you roll back to your old drivers? I'm still using nVidia drivers from something like April '04 because anything newer isn't compatible with EQ (despite the EQ pop-up window telling me to upgrade) and screws up hair colors and spell effects.

My mouse gets stuck at the EULA screen too. Dammit, can't get my evercrack fix!!

Lot of stuff going on in the Tech forums on EQ Live about the mouse. Might wanna check it out. Seems it works ok in windowed mode, but not full screen.

Can't tell ya. Once upon a time when they added in the pop-up, I dutifully updated and it dorked up my graphics. Admin remarks on the offical tech forums confirmed that EQ wasn't necessarily compatible with the newest drivers it was recommending. So I rolled back. When I stopped playing EQ and played City of Heroes, I updated the drivers without a problem. A couple months ago when I returned to EQ, I had the latest drivers, well past the ones from the initial pop-up box days. Started EQ, same issues as before. Rolled back and it worked great.

I'm not a tech guy to say exactly what's what, but the officals DID admit that the pop-up box was premature for some people and driver sets. I'm not sure I'd exactly trust it now and, if the game started crashing after the driver update, a rollback would seem the logical first thing to try.
