/load directoryNameOfTheFiles

I think... it's been a while

now I remember you can just type /load and you'll be given a dialog box to choose skin from.

First, create a new folder in the UI Files folder in your EQ directory. Make sure that the folder name has *no spaces*. Put all of the files in there. Then, while in-game, type in "/loadskin" to bring up the UI skin menu. Select the name of your folder, hit "Load", and viola!

You can copy the entire Everquest folder over. This will save you time from downloading all the updates again and save your button and ui settings.

you'll have to setup different UI's and do /load for each character everytime you switch toons.

yes, the customed UIs from EQinterface is reliable. they are merely customed interfaces (written in XML format if you are interested) to show the data from the server. the interfaces determint what to show, where to show it and how to show it. the information is all from the server and not altered in anyway.

Since they are changing the default UI and all of the custom Ui mods are based on the current default, will i still be able to use them if i have a copy of the current default now??

I have my eye on one of the mods and dont want the changing of the custom UI to disable me from using it

I am not currently playing so I don't know the details on this change.

their data format changed over time, so some of the very old custom UIs, while may still work, may not work perfectly. it's the same issue here with the old default UI. it may work, but pay attention to.... I forget the file name, the error log file in your EQ directory for any errors/warnings about your UI files.

it's very possible that the current default UI may have pieces that won't work after the UI is changed. Just keep that in mind.
