Im thinking of coming back to EQ because of the changes that have been made. However im not quite decided. Knowing that I could use the money from my old lvl 52 BL and farm a little would sway me alot.

I payed for a years subscription of EQ on September 15th of 2004 but only played a few months before quiting. So my charcter has been inactive for somewhat close to 2 years. But I was still a paying costumer a year and a month ago.

Will my charcter still be there waiting for me?

Technically, they only save toons around for 3 months (IIRC)...however....the tale of toons being deleted after years of inactivity is rare at best.

The only concern would be any character that was below level 10 might have been whacked when they did the merger, your 52 BST should be safe though.

The party line is that they never actively delete inactive accounts but only guarantee the integrity of the characters for 90 days. So if your two year old inactive necromancer is naked when you restart the account, don't go crying to them.

Good to hear. I think a little before quiting I stupidly sold all my beastlord gear cheap to buy Druid and Priest alt gear....but I guess i could now sell that off to buy some new stuff.

Is there any place I could take my BL to farm a little platinum? As I said im not sure if he has decent equip anymore so I wont be able to do anything bit like the planes...doesnt help either that im gonna be rusty.

You could get a decent start probably by hitting old world dungeons and farming fine steel weapons. SolA for example. Provided your BST is a Vah shir or Barbarian, you could even sell the weapons right in the zone (at the gnome castle) when you fill up. They don't cotton to evils though. Another option may be Geonids in Crystal Caverns who are a traditional farm source (they drop "flawed" gems which are fairly decent vendor fodder).

*Could* be gone. Most probably won't be but SOE has to draw the line somewhere to guard itself against complaints. Most every account I've heard has people returning to fully intact characters that have all their gear, memmed spells and even two year old buffs on them.

I believe they're in the 30's-low 40's in level. Your pet should blow through them. The weapons, ore, etc that drop in the zone from the orcs is valuable as well.

Alright one last question. Is the ore and other drops vendor trash or should I be taking it bazaar to sell? I rember from playing the game that CC was a great loot spot and farmed even after Omens by some players...but I never actually visited the zone myself and I cant recall EQs tradeskill system so no clue if thats why things are valuable.

Can take the stackable ore to the bazaar.

The other stuff sell to a merchant.

But in Crystal Caverns your Ikky bl may be kos to the dwarves. At least untill you kill a few hundred orcs.

I don't think it goes by inactive charactors, but that it goes by inactive accounts. As far as they are concerned you quit just a little over a month ago. I would imagine its all there.

They have never deleted inactive accounts and characters.

Only once it happened, I think it was Xegony server? There was a data meltdown or something. Someone else can explain better.

My brother started EQ the same time as me. April 1999. I still play but he quit in August 1999. I 2 box and decided to 3 box and reopened his account in April 2005, 6 years laters folks. His level 10 Barbarian Warrior was still sitting there in all his tattered leather glory. This was on E'ci server. (Now Tunare)
