Hello again,

I've got my bard leveled up to 44 now and am really looking forward to using the singing steel armor's effects. I haven't been able to find a definate answer on how long these effects last though. From what I understand, most last up to 6 minutes.

Could someone please verify this for me. For example, the singing steel boots have a levitate clicky. Will this last for the full 6 minutes or so at level 45? Are these effects castable on anyone or do they have to be grouped and targeted. Also how long is the recast on the heal on the breastplate.

Could someone also explain why the singing steel helmet is so expensive and coveted. I know that the eye of zomm is useful for scouting, but how long does it last and cast you cast spells (songs) from it as if you were it?

Thanks alot guys.
Take care.

best way to find the answer is to test it.

as for SS helm, that was the only SS piece I still used from time to time at level 70.

At 65 I still use the helm and the boots. The clicky levitate is about 5min, maybe a touch or so longer. I know I need to hit Selo's twice before the lev effect fades. Anyway, I still find a group-wide 5min lev helpful.

The helm's eye only lasts for 30sec or so, but it's long enough to tag mobs for lull or pretarget to mez or whatever. There's also various tricks you can do with pushing it through walls and doors. You can't cast through it but you can click doors and levers via the Eye. I make fairly constant use of mine.

If nothing else, you can summon and bap Eyes with your Overthere hammer until it procs Smiley: laugh

The other effects are outdated for me either due to new gear or just usefulness. Clicky 10sec cast time AE Fear is something I'd never use, the DS bracer is okay but nothing outstanding. If I'm soloing, I'm not meleeing and if I'm grouping we usually have a mage or druid overwriting the effect. Arms used to be zing, I guess it's probably infravision now... bleah. The 100pt heal on the chest perhaps still has applications but not enough to spend the money people still ask for it. I have insta-clicky Enduring Breath and don't need the gloves.
