how do some ppl lev real high and im so low? is there some kinda drug i need to get higher lol or is it just like the higher lev spell makes u lev higher?
The game has been out for over six years now, your bound to see one or two level 70's running around now and then.
also remember most people have went through the leveling process already. It really isnt fun after the first time so they power level themselves with alts or friends.
Gonna give you a little tip. If you play the game worrying about what other people have and are doing you will absolutely ruin it for yourself and will begin playing for all the wrong reasons.

Really just depends on where you just hopped off of.
Find the highest climbable area, run off.

also casting the spell repeatedly on yourself at the high of your float (you move up and down while standing still) will move you up higher until you eventually hit the zone roof (invisible but its there usually.) in PoK since they got towers you can go high enough you cant see the ground anymore... dont remember the falling dmg for that but it was alot!

actually i have noticed that if you have a faster computer you stay levitated higher for longer periods of time. My Gfs computer is a bit older lags a bit and when i play on her comp. i seem to run like 2 feet above the ground always no matter where i start.
Oh...levitate...Lol!
I also have noticed it has to do with CPU speed. Anytime Iplay with my friend he will drop straight to the ground while I can levitate for what seems forever.

Yes as someone said to get altitude run up hills or tall things. But also once levitating if you look up with your page-up key you'll stay up longer, look down you'll go down faster.

It also helps to have multiple spells running such as FOE, DMF, and levitate.
It seems to me that the higher the lvl spell, the higher lvl we floated. Not sure if it depends on the person casting the lev /spell level or the person recieving the spell, but this has been my observation over the years.
