Do focus effect items stack with eachother? Such as if where to have two items with mana preservation would i preserve twice as much mana or would it be as if i only had one item?

Same effects do not stack; if you have items with the same effect on different "levels" (I, II, III...), the highest effect will take place.

Example 1:

You have two items with Mana Preservation I. You will get the same effect as if you had only one of them.

Example 2:

You have one item with Mana Preservation I and one item with Mana Preservation II. You will only get the effect of Mana Preservation II.

One thing I wondered about, what about similar effects with different names? For example, Improved Damage and the effect (Gelidran Anger) from the Bone-Studded Loop which adds damage to cold based DDs?

Just curious.

A focus effect and a buff will normally stack.

You can look at lucy and check out the blocking stats. That will tell you if two (or more) effects will stack with each other.

Worn focii do not stack. If two of the same focii are present, the better % one wins out. For example, if you have Affliction Efficiancy and Mana Preservation and cast a DoT spell, the Affliction Efficiancy Focus will win out (20% mana pres casting a DoT vs. 15% mana pres on any spell). You wont get 15% on top of the 20%.

If you have both Mana Preservation I and Mana Preservation II items, the SPELL determines which will be used. Since they are both the same % of preservation it does not matter except for the focus message. Using a spell level 20 or under, you will get focus message from the item that is Mana Pres I. For spells > 20 you would get the Mana pres II message. Even for spells > 44 you will get a message and a slightly reduced focus.

However since Mana pres II covers Mana pres I you do not need MPI.

The most effective one "wins" and if you leave focus effect messages on, and perhaps filter then someplace you can see (in a color you see), you will see which item "twinkles, blinks, burns, shimmers, glows, moans" etc. when you cast each spell.

Talk about spam. *winks*

To microanswer you (using Lucy):

Gelidran Anger
http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=6428&source=Live
1: Increase Spell Damage by 25%
2: Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)

Improved Damage V
http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=6414&source=Live
1: Increase Spell Damage by 20%
2: Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)

So.. Gelidran Anger.

Of course the difference between the "Limit"s is the interesting part comparing those foci.

With the exception of the rogue's epic 1.0. Or so I've heard. Can anyone confirm this?

Wow, that would be great for rogues!

Rogues cap their haste sooner than any other class.

Actually I was hoping for a reply from 'Groogle'. My question still remains.

If this is true about the rogue 1.0, it's the first I've heard of it.

But then again, what do I know? I try to fulfill my role as best as I can by making sure I have the best weapons and haste item(s) I can obtain, and leave the rest to my continual pursuit of offensive AAs. In short, I try to do the most damage I can with what is available to me.

It would be lovely to find out that my Ragebringer (40%) stacks with my Fabled Flowing Black Silk Sash (36%), but it just doesn't seem accurate. If it is true, however, then I am consistantly haste capped, since I will always have the 30% haste buff from my ornate gloves or a chanter/shammie/bst haste buff on.
