Coming back....Graphics & Grouping...Follow

#1 Oct 18 2005 at 2:12 AM Rating: Decent
Hey! I quit a while back for the WoW phenomena, but I got a warlock to level 20, then a mage, then a paladin to 13, tried all the classes...And then got horribly horribly bored...

Now I'm back to EQ! I got a level 20 Druid! Also a brand new computer, that I bought to play WoW on, and Broadband!

My 2 questions...

1) When I update to the expansions, do the graphics and spell affects graphics change? So does a wizard bnlast look different in Ruins of Kunark, to Depths Of Darkhollow? And does the scenery look better? And all that?

2) When I start, ill be at 20 with my druid. Are the newbie zones pretty busy? Has the population suffered?

WB Lwotton!

The first expansion that added new graphics was Luclin so yes if you din't get to see that one you'll be mildly suprised. Take a trip to the nektulos forest and you'll get to see DoD style graphics.

The actual noob zones are pretty dead but ther is a zone that's almost too busy but really great xp if you can get in. It's Echo caverns. The side that is near the soulbinder in shadowhaven. you will beable to get to 30 on that side and move to the larger side till 40 some odd. Hope this helps.

Iksar look really cool compared to the kunark version so that's a fun one to gauge if you can remember the old models or just stop by cabilisand look at a guard.

So the spell graphics change?

Change from what?

Some of the spell effects have changed. The new expansions dont' have any explict spell graphics changed in them.

If you are trying to find out if they are nice looking as WoW, they are not. Some of the new ones are pretty nice looking though!

I forget which expansion that was that changed them but yes they have quite a bit more particles depending on graphice settings. My mages bolt spell isn't as cool anymore though. You used to beable to see it track across the screen and now it just causes some particles.

They need your 1st born child as collateral. If no child then your favorite pet. WoW is way less intensive than EQ so i think that's one of the appealing aspects of the game. EQ is just plain classic. I have been procrastinating for 5 years and i've loved every minuet of it. I'm still not lvl 70 with my main and probably never will be. Enjoy frineds and the fun of building up your character. Nice thing is too you can go from 1-35 in a week with only 2-3 hours a day with the new hot zones.
