I have a ton of characters, some guilded, some not. The two main guilds I am in are both single-race guilds, one all-dwarf and the other all-gnome, which isn't covered by this poll.

Errrr. This was a guild? I think at some point it was but not any more. Now it is a bunch of people who want to do stuff but never come when stuff is put out to do.
I've been in all sorts of guilds. Family-focused raiding; raid-focused family; hardcore-focused hardcore; nothing-focused group of bumbling fools; etc.

Was in one of top guilds on server but dropped out due to new job and traveling time restricting my play time. Figure I'll go join a family style guild and help them progress through pop.
I'm from The Tribunal Server and I am a member of one of the best and most original guilds around...Incursio Meretricis...which litterally means "Raid Whores" now how great is that???

The pen is blue.. the god damn pen is blue.
Myself, I am part of a small guild, it's mostly a family/friend type of guild. Since I don't spend a lot of time playing it fits my playing habits. We occasionally raid but mostly just group a lot.
Rise is almost a hardcore raiding guild. Our family type atomosphere is what keeps everything in check. We downed The Rathe Council and Avatar of Earth last night which granted us our Time flag! Now on to Time trials and gearing up. I do believe GoD progression is next.

Not to take anything from CIH, I see a lot of their names come up on rankings, but gear is gear, dropping the mobs first scores points with me. Why? Because it is easier to read a strategy than to develop one.
This is an open topic discussion btw. Anybody feel free to post up some opinions. Just back up your arguments with info other than "dey got Anguish gear" because the two I previously mentioned were the first, and by now there are a lot of guilds serverwide that are at that stage of the game

Look me up on Bertoxx, we are a family friendly casual raiding guild. Name is Bamorfy. The guild is Keepers of the Glade.
I am a member of Keepers of the Glade on Bertoxx. We fit both Family Friendly and Casual Raiding. I think there should have been a catagory like that. We have a guild raid 2ish times a week, plus or minus. We do POP, DoN progression regularily, and Epic stuff as it is available and needed. We are also working on OOW and GoD as members are available. We have other guilds that are allied with us and had a total raid force of 65 to take out Carpin and Bertox saturday night, without exerting too much effort. So i really do not see someplace on the poll where we fit.
I think CIH win for the name alone =p

Hello, all, I play a 68th level cleric on Bertox and I run a small family style guild (12 people). When I say "family guild," I'm referring to a guild made up of people who have their own families and thus only a small amount of time to devote to video games. I bought EQ the day Kunark came out and play when I can. Our guild plays together a total of 11 hours per week, and those who can get on during the off times do so when real life permits.
My guild members love playing EQ, and have been loyal residents of Norrath for years now. However, we'll never see the Plane of Time or anything that requires more than 12 people to accomplish, because we don't have the manpower or the time. As you can see, we miss out on a ton if content.
For this reason, I'm ECSTATIC to see that this poll reveals small guilds like mine to be the second most common type of guild in the game! We're very close to being a majority. I am by no means suggesting this makes small guilds better than large uber raiding guilds. I am merely pointing out that hundreds of thousands of EQ players are missing out on content because of their style of play.
It is my sincere hope that Sony developers will not only read this, but also take this into account when designing upcoming expansions.
In other words, please don't create scenarios where the only way we can get basic, class-defining things like spells is to raid. Half the player base doesn't have the time or the inclination to raid, and we pay the same money everyone else does.
I appreciate your consideration.

I'm in a family/grouping/raiding guild which is not one of the choices, we are one of the few that is still around.
Dragon Treats on Druzzil Ro is basically a bunch of us RL friends from work/college. One of the main reasons we all started EQ way back in the dim and misty was because being scattered to the wind after graduation, getting online to game was one way to stay in touch. Those of us who like more hard core gaming have moved some toons to other Guilds, but we still maintain the guild for once a week get togethers and such.
Put serious progression, but not hardcore, however that's technically not my "Guild" My guild is a family, non raiding guild. I'm in a casual raiding alliance working hard on Txevu so... yeah

Power and No Fear. A Stromm Family Guild currently focusing on small raids to complete Epic 1.0's. We are currently allied with the Dark Elf Militia of Norrath and will most likely join a larger alliance after several of the officer Epics are completed. We have about 20 active members who each have several toons in the guild.

Yeah, I must have been uber stoned at the time, where the hell did I get Drinal? Sorry for the conflusion. But really the rest of my post reads about right then, we all agree about Cestus Dei, and would assume he means Township as well.
Guess the question still is out there though. How do we as people rate the "uberest" guilds across servers? Didn't get much response from the forum. But thanks for reading it.

I don't see a place we quite fit. We are a family friend type guild but we also raid up to three times a week. Friday and saturday we do a guild aliance raid working pop progression and elemental raiding. Sundays we do guild only raids. No one is forced into any of the raiding so it's flexable for those who want the friendly home invironment without having to raid.
DN is hardcore/casual... we take our casual play very seriously

the unguild. chat channel consisting of handpicked mercenaries ive found along the way in my travels. the idea is to easily find groups and dependable people. worked great for awhile but died when i tasted soloing as a necromancer
Terror Australis (sigh an unfortunate name in light of our current geo-political situation 
)is a serious raiding guild, that endeavours to retain some elements of the family style (ie we dont deguild people for missing raids).
We are currently in the latter stages of farming Time and have begun our move into GoD (of course we hit targets of opportunity in OoW as well).
Our Guild Leaders have worked very hard at trying to strike a reasonable balance between keeping a core phylosophy that is inclusive and welcoming and keeping the right structure and people to keep pushing forward for advancement into to new territory. It is something of a tightrope and hats off to Krystaline and Eriand for the effort they put in to try to maintain the balance.
An earlier poster be-moaned the slow and tortuous death of the roleplayer. I share some sympathy with that sentiment.
I was never a supporter of the "thee and thy" crowd, nor had sympathy for the "role play *****", but I have always had more empathy for the role play aspect of the game than the min/maxers.
Sadly we as we have moved to become more serious about raiding into GoD the tendancy toward the min/maxer style has become more predominant in out guild, I suspect this may be the case in many of the "serious advancement" style of guilds, from one point of view the demands of GoD seems to require this. Although I do not subscribe to that train of thought personally.

I am part of Syndicatus on Quellious. We only raid 2-3 nights a week. PoP progression right now. Not only are we doing that but we have a focus of helping each other out to be the best. We do recognize that RL is more important than EQ, so there is no mandatory raids.

Progression is just progression. It's fun to play for #1, but I get more enjoyment out of the people in the guild. Great people, excellent players... <3 Cestus Dei! I doubt I could ever join another guild.
