I'm in the 'gear up Inlee' sort of guild. Which I didn't see as being an option.

My guild is still a family/friend guild, but I can see us falling in to the "casual raid" section as well. We may not do big PoP or Luclin targets, but pickup epic fights are becoming much more common.

Courtin is in a very nonfuctional guild. GL took over, then left game for 4 months. Lots of other folks left for raiding guild just before that and some went to WOW.

All my other toons are in a guild that exists just to allow access to guild hall, but we do group every once in a while. When I am ready to move upward I will.

UF has a family "attitude" RL always comes first. but we are also progressing nicely. All of us are almost done farming Qvic, and we are working the parts of epic 2.0 that we can, altho anguish is aways away yet.

Sceptered Isle is a fairly heavy raiding guild although we still maintain the friendliness of a family guild. Currently working on finishing MPG trials 3/6 with 4th almost beaten. Only Tunat and Mordl Delt left in Tacvi and working on DoN raids.

Whilst I could have joined an uber guild 2 of the top 3 are on my server I have been in my guild for 2 years and wouldn't want it any other way.

I am very happy with my guild. They raid some fairly high end mobs (POP gods, OOW mobs, etc). They are very fair with there DKP, nothing rotts if a person can use it (Think its down right stupid the way guilds let high end no trade armor rott cause somebody doesn't have the dkp to buy it). Alot of nice people that understand people have a life outside of EQ. Id hug them all except they don't live near me..... And some of them are men.

Quick question to Tassoth, Eater of Souls. What guilds does he consider top three on the servers? Because I see one, CIH, that I woudl consider among the elite of the elite. Cestus Dei dropped OMM first, Assent second, and they both did it months ahead of everybody else. So I guess I am just curious how you are ranking your guilds. Don't get me wrong, I think it is cool you remain loyal to your guild, just not sure how you are ranking guilds across servers.

Every server has three or four guilds that are pretty uber. So I tend to go by who drops what, when, and how. OMM and maybe Vishi version 9.53455 are some of the harder mobs, and Cestus Dei broke the mold there. Assent was close on their heels with less peeps (think they had maybe just over 70 in their guild at the time). Not to take anything from CIH, I see a lot of their names come up on rankings, but gear is gear, dropping the mobs first scores points with me. Why? Because it is easier to read a strategy than to develop one.

This is an open topic discussion btw. Anybody feel free to post up some opinions. Just back up your arguments with info other than "dey got Anguish gear" because the two I previously mentioned were the first, and by now there are a lot of guilds serverwide that are at that stage of the game

I'm really just in my guild now for the hall access even though it's a friends/family guild. The problem is I'm the only one really ever on, and the other members are the friends and are on when I'm not, and I've barely met anyone in the guild.

heh

go go CIH

i love to see em on rankings as well..well at least when i turn on paid for only ;-), when i do that, i am in top 10 on drinal ;-P

was cool to see someone from another server talk about them. i remember WAY back when when i saw CiH toons, and how i dreamed i might be that uber....and now am glad i am not in that guild. nothing against them, but too many times i saw members, not the entire guild, be jerks, and other bad names.

Mine is a "family" one, but I can tell that the higher up characters are itching to do raid-type thing. The only reason I don't leave for one with more people my level who play more often is because I like the company of the Knights of the Coffee Table.

I think we're a family/friend guild that casually raids. We're still gearing people up and working on epic 1.0s. Everyone helps everyone out with targets they want to hit. But the best part is.... we have a blast no matter what we're doing! Smiley: jester

I have to say my guild most likely falls into the hardcore raiding guild for the fact we raid 7 days a week with maybe 1-2 days off every 2-3 weeks. Raiding endgame PoP stuff as well as Inkuta, Qvic, and the other GoD stuff and mix of OoW and DoN and DoD targets

Birds of Prey is a casual raiding guild. At the moment we are only raiding one day a week but there is talk of mabey doing more. Mostly doing PoP flagging.

One of the strengths of the guild is grouping. Ever since I joined I have been grouped non-stop for a month. Most times I'm in a group within 3 mins of logging on. Hell, just in that last month I did 65-70 and around 60aa's. Defiently the most fun guild I've ever been in.

As a member of Nobles of the Night guild on Bertoxxulous it is impossible to do any kind of raiding due to the guildleader that originally invited me to join, he has openly stated he will not raid or have a raiding guild and refuses to even consider doing any raiding and went in and removed over half the guild due to not being on for over 6 months. This has left the guild with less than 40 people in the guild and most of them including the leader have not been on in the last 2 months. At the August guild meeting he showed up after being absent for 3 weeks and suggested that as a guild we play games such as Marco Polo and a couple of others. He has not been seen since.
There are currently only 4 people in this guild that are on when I am on.

Before anyone tells me to find a new guild I am currently looking for a new guild and have yet to find one that fits what I am looking for. Most guilds of any size on the Bert server are only recruiting 60+ with X number AA's. I am working on getting to that level but it is still frustrating.

I still enjoy EQ and use the guild for access to the guildhall and a few other very minor conveniences.

Enjoy and have fun that is what is important.

I'm in Euphoria on the Nameless server They raid 6 nights a week 7pm EST to 12 am EST (saterday nights off) been in the guild since April. I've been in raiding guilds for a few years now and personally I prefer them to other styles of guilds.

i was in a hardcore raiding guild which i wont name here. I left it for the simple reason i wasnt having fun anymore. Ive now joined a causual/family guild that raids here and there and am having fun again. This just my personal experience. Thought id put my 2cp in.

We're a family first type of guild, but did drop AMV last night so we are progressing at a good clip. Having fun while raiding and the level of laughs in guildchat are awesome. Never thought I'd see the day I'd be wearing QVIC gear much less at the place where I am replacing qvic gear.

*gives applauds to UF on Drinal*

I may not be a member of your fine guild, but I spend a fair bit of time with some of your members. I have always looked up to UF and am extreemly happy to see the progression you have all taken recently.

I would have to say White Wind, the guild I am a member of, is between family/casual and hardcore raiding. We have a points system and have scheduled raiding 4 times a week, plus one or two "other" raids such as epics. We have never skipped content, doing our time in Kael, Halls of Testing, NToV, Ssra, VT, and now PoP (Elementals as of now yay!). However, we do know that RL comes first and you play as you can. Many of our members, including myself, have taken multiple month vacations to come back and be welcomed with open arms. THAT is what I applaud in a guild.

Shadowed Justice of Cazic Thule raids 3-4 nights a week mandatory and is now elemental, so I considered us in a serious push for progression.

My guild, Pak Cafan, is a fairly hardcore guild, but a family guild at the same time. We realize everyone needs some time off for this and that and are never punished because of it. Our guild has some nice ppl in it and I think most will tell you, it is a respected guild on the Drinal server. While we have lost a few to CiH, we are giving them a "run". We were the 2nd guild on our server to beat Vish. We have yet to beat OMM, but that is just a matter of time!
