Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered many a time, but normally I usually read the forums that apply to me at the moment.
I am relatively unsure of how the dual wield thing works, as far as choosing the right weapon for the primary and secondary hands. I am told I should put the harder hitting weapon in primary and the fastest in the off-hand. I, myself believe that the harder hitting weapon should be in the offhand since it appears to come around less than the primary.
If I am wrong on either count..please correct me and let me know the right way

Right, a few things to consider.
Don't worry too much about all of that which you just said, only consider this.
Primary hand gets a damage bonus this is an add on to the damage calculation, and is level dependant. You get this bonus every swing, so the faster you swing the more bonus you get. Aside from that, it is more class dependant as to what weapons would be best for you.
Rangers want the best ratio possible and warriors want the fastest possible. If you look at my rangers magelo you will see I have a good ratio fast weapon ion my primary and a very good ratio, very slow weapon in my secondary.

I agree, like Reinman I keep the better ratio weapon in my On-hand, but my Off-hand isn't a slouch either though. hehe

Of course, if you are chosing between the weapons that Kerik has, you don't really have a problem in the first place.
Kerik,where did u get that sword u have in the primary hand?
As a tank to draw more agro you want the fastest hitting in your primary hand (Hopefully fastest and a pretty good ratio).
