Hi all,

I'm still new so apologies for the silly questions, but here's my latest.

I'm playing a lvl 8 BL Barbarian, who started with a 'worn candle' which allowed me to see around the tunnels into the Black Burrow. But for some reason it stopped working. I have also got a lightstone but alas that was also not working. Even though I gave it to someone else who said it was fine and I tried it in every main inventory slot, still no good. Bouncing off the walls and relying on the map (not in BB as it doesn't show) whenever there are no wall torches.

Whys that then?

But then the next time I played it all seemed to work ok?

Maybe he'd slipped in some more batteries while in camp?

Lance

edit for spelling Doh!

Next time you log in, stop by the options page and see if you have Dynamic Lighting checked. Although dynamic lighting takes up more power, it's one of the few things that makes a dramatic difference in how the world looks. Without it, the entire zone is a solid flat shade of lighting and, for a barbarian, it can be rather dark. With it on, the area around you is illuminated by your lightsource, fading off into darkness beyond.

I think there's an ingame command for it (probably /dynamiclighting on or something) but the options switch I'm sure of.

Ah ha! Many thanks Jophiel, I think you must be spot on as I have been playing with the dynamic lighting setting.

I've tried lots of different settings to try and get the most, without slowing down my PC. I quite liked the emotes being on to watch people dancing and waving etc, but the lighting is far more valuable.

Many thanks,

Lance.

Also, when you go swimming the candle goes out, as does the lightstone. Just re-equip them and they will come back on.

At least it used to work that way, havent been up there in awhile.
