Friday - I finally gave in and created a Necro. Got her to 16. A promising little character. (Yes, a female toon. To those who therefore assume I'm gay/transexual/transvestite. . . I don't give a monkey's armpit Smiley: grin)

Saturday - Spring cleaned the house - wrote to the National Science Museum to notify them of several new species in the kids' bedrooms. Played the Druid half-heartedly (one eye on the TV, one on the toon) and got an AA point in Nadox.

Sunday - Levelled to Beastlord to 38 in Gunthak. He really is a blast - looking forward to 39 spells, getting him to mid-40s so I can 2 box him and the Dr00d Smiley: cool

Monday - RL Employer Faction Quest. Did the final turn-in for the 'Personal Objectives' quest. Why won't the bastages let us MQ that one? Smiley: waycool

Hehe, nice update Noggy.

Well it was a mixed week for "Forgotten Nemesis".

On thursdays raid night we took our rag tag army of God slayers to Crypt of Decay to attempt to slay the mighty Bertox himself.
For anyone that does not know the Bertox fight is a fixed time length. You have 2 hours from killing the first creature to kill much trash followed by 12 kings and then Bertox himself. You cannot really afk and the fight is hectic Smiley: smile
The fight was good, we had a strategy and hoped we would prevail. Being a first attempt on a very difficult PoP god we were treating the event as a learning experience hoping for success but not relying on it, how silly of us Smiley: wink
We all worked well, the monks died around 20 times each pulling but we have now slain the evil Bertox and one of our rangers walks norrath with his glowing green club Smiley: smile

Friday was aour day off but we cleared plane of fear and even killed Cazic Thule for fun.

Saturday the guild killed the PoV dragging for backflagging in preparation for sundays raid. I was not present but I understand the crystal dragon suffered a quick end at the hands of my guildies.

Sundays raid was another first try for "Forgotten Nemesis", we attempted the great lord Mithanial Marr.
In our attempt and regretable failure we found out a lot about MM . How to pull him, to control his pets and kill him next time. We successfully had him pinned in place but some bad luck and low healer numbers because of flagging issues defeated us.
On our next attempt we will slay him. We have the strategy, we will have more people flagged, we will have revenge Smiley: smile And also we cannot win first time on every god Smiley: wink

Morning Everyone,

Leveled the Enchanter from 29 - 31 in Echo Caverns. Then decided to do a little exploring and ended up in the Gulf of Gunthak which is where I camped and called it a weekend. It looks like a pretty neat zone and I hope to get into a group fighting whatever is in the zone.

Also farmed the heck out of swirling stones and shadeling silks because the good old bank account was looking fairly empty. Sold the silks within 30 minutes in the bazaar for 6 plat apiece. Made about 500 plat doing that - Yeah! Swirling Stones market has recently gotten a bit soft and they are presently selling for about half of the usual value. This has happened just recently since the release of GoD.

Since this is my first pet class character I must admit that he is a lot more exciting to play then my 34 pally, 28 shaman and 28 cleric. It has kept my interest and now that I have a new zone to hunt in (Gunthak) I look forward to logging in an hour here and an hour there.

The weekend was mostly uneventful...until Sunday. That's when we took an ironic turn for the worst.

A 38 Necro in our guild asked for help on getting the Summon Corpse spell from a named in the bottom of Splitpaw. Great guy (whole group was) so a few of us eagerly volunteer. Group is all guild, 35-41, Warrior (me) 2 Rangers, Necro, Bard and Cleric. Great sub-group within the Guild that works well together. We enter and proceed to own everything in our path...even getting some xp, which is a nice byproduct of the spell quest. Just before we're getting ready to swim under the rock and head to the named room, cleric tells us she has to go for RL problem. No one is mad - she is cool and stuff happens. We figure we'd come this far so easily, not a big deal.

We head in and take down the first bunch of guards. A little beat up afeterward, but the zone is now safe to med and heal. Once that is done, Bard goes to try to lull pull the named. That's when things got hairy.

I see his health dropping and he does not come around the corner. Then he announces "rooted:" /assist Bard. Mezz breaks on the others in the room while we are fighting and they proceed to join in and heal the main. Necro dies. Bard and I are dropping below 30% with the Rangers healing. One Ranger draws low HP aggro and dies. Continue fighting and health is below 20% on Warrior and Bard. Remaining Ranger announces OOM...crap. We never fininshed off the MOB healer, but still manage to get the named to 6% or so before dying. Bard dies...Warrior dies.

Remaining Ranger, in an awesome head's up move, finishes off the named with a nuke and loots the spell, which is what we came for in the first place. He dies trying to get out, but makes it past the bridge at least. We find a Druid, port back to NK, and run to zone. 2nd Ranger runs back to zone as well, cammos, and manages to drag his corpse to the entrance. Now we have the summon corpse spell - yay! Too bad our Necro is 38, and can't scribe it yet.

Its 2am at this point and no one is looking forward ro CR. So, we procure a 39 Necro to do what? Summon corpse. Same spell we were after for out 38 Necro, who can't quite use it yet. Hence the irony. I log 41 Druid, hit bank for 750pp and port/run back to zone to give it to someone in party. Log out Druid, log in Warrior. Necro shows up and summons, and we all head to the Spire for Nexus port.

Sorry so long winded, but hey: it was fun for us despite wiping. Got a little too cocky thinking we could do it without cleric, but in the end we got what we were after, although in a sloppy way.

We've been doing GoD trials in Kod'Taz. Officers decided it would be a good idea to assign groups for Trial 7 (okay it has a name and I can't keep them straight, sorry) and possibly Trial 8 (see above). I got tagged for one of the Trial 7 groups, and OMG, so intense.

We did win it - screwed the pooch on the final pull and had to recoup and re-clear part of it, but by damn we stayed in there for the win. (Afterward I went right to bed, which was a mistake because I ended up re-fighting the trial all night. It was *that* intense.)

Yesterday we went to a deeper zone, one with lots of Z's in the name, and killed the Mindrider. That's a fun fight, I was charmed for a while and chased clerics around smacking them with my hammer - another fantasy fulfilled.

Afterwards one of my fellow Trial 7 veterans hailed an innocent looking mob, and hello! we got an Uqua raid. Uqua is a tough neighborhood, so we'd heard; obviously we were excited to check it out. Suffice to say we'll have a plan before we go back there.

best weekend ever as i finnaly LEFT EQ. cancled both my accounts and am considering XXXXXX my accounts.

picked up DAoC Gold for the SI expansion, and ToA yesterday afternoon (sunday) and installed them on top of classic. all i can say is if you enjoy eyecandy and think SWG is nice looking but laggy, check out DAoC.

better looking then SWG, and no were near as laggy, nor as much a system hog. classic DAoC with only the first free expansion (player housing 'Foundations') is roughly 575M, with all expansions installed and optional files added to the system i am now at 1.79G in size.

so much lighter on the system then EQ and runs oh so much better.

anyways im very happy with leaving EQ. not that i did not enjoy the game, but i hated the company that much. got tired of paying them for doing such a ****** job at CS and TS for their product that i left.

Friday - played a bit, but not long as i had a long day ahead of me IRL on sat.

Staurday - up early to teach classes, then head over to other side of state (2hr drive) to judge at the FL CTF Black belt testing. was not one of our better testings, and had several NO CHANGES. those are failed to pass their test. 1 from not breaking her boards, sad really as the rest of her test was great, 3 from lack of effort, and 3 from lack of definitions on their verbal skills. so 6 ppl will get a little wake up call between this coming sat, and next saturday. depending on what school they are from. got home at roughly 1am.

Sunday slept in for the first time in 3 weeks, then played with family and kids, took everyone out to lunch. picked up expansion packs for DAoC (way better game then EQ IMHO and better eye candy then even SWG without the system lag) and stayed up to 3am playing DAoC. bad boy i was last night. was almost late to work this morning.

enjoy.

Had a great time fighting in Lower GUK...Brought back memories, some good and some very disturbing and guild rendering...lol

Did a couple of advenures and got Doktore to lvl 41. Had a great weekend. Only died once and it was because of some bad pulling, but the pulling bard saw the mistake and then had great pulls on the next adventure. So all in all, good times.

My youngest daughter, however, levelled her little druid from 20 to 24...this is a big accomplishment for her. She has never had a character higher than about 9...newbie zones were all she could handle (she is 11 and has Cerebral Palsy). She is really getting the hang of it. She wants to do an adventure next...think I will sit with her and help her out!

I am so humbled! My highest character is still my 23 Pally, to go with my 20 Shaman, 20 Ranger and 20 Bard... Grats to your daughter!

And WHY am I still such a youngster? Can't make up my mind who to play, AND, well - it was 79 degrees yesterday, and staying inside was NOT an option...

Nonetheless, I did diddle around in Unrest for a while, farmed in SWT, fletched in PoK and (of course) sold what I farmed in the bazaar.

Also - attempted my first table-top Warhammer game with my son last night. It was REAL slow at first, then we got the hang of it and knew what rolls to look for. He LOVES painting the guys - I just do not have the patience for that right now...

Yes - he won when his orc boyz charged my Empire troops, who paniced, turned to run, fell all overthemselves and got slaughtered from behind (I was doing pretty well up until then...).

Got into a group on Saturday morning with my rogue that contained the single most obnoxious person I've ever met in EQ. Some lvl 38ish ranger. In what should have been a cakewalk (two clerics, rogue, ranger, bard, monk in a lvl 35 Mistmoore), he managed to wipe us twice and drive off one of the clerics and the monk because he would rather insult people and try to /duel them than actually do the adventure. After the second wipe I told the others sorry and took my leave. I've never left a group before due to a single person but this guy made it my first.

Played my bard for the first time in several weeks and went back to ******** around in Nadox. Got some bow to drop which may or may not be decent -- I know nothing about bows and what's considered "good". Doesn't matter too much.. I just like looting something besides zombie skins. Was invited into a PoV group by a guildie which was less xp than I was making in Nadox and a lot less loot besides. Still, I stuck with it until we wiped (stupid wipe too, chanter died trying to mez and add, I mezzed it after and then the druid took it upon himself to try to root/rot the mobs which broke my mezzes and we got our asses handed to us). Called it an early night to get some real life stuff done.
