Another question by me...Follow

#1 Mar 03 2004 at 5:37 AM Rating: Default
I tried to find the answers on former posts but had no success so far so I ask (probably as the 101st one):

If I take a Wood Elf I get FORAGE at 50 at creation but I can't raise it if she's no Ranger - or can I?

And if I take a Dark Elf I start with HIDE but I can't raise it if she's no Rogue?

Sorry to bother which such everyday questions but today I seem to be unable to find my way through the web....

I've never been able to get my non-rogue class's hide or sneak over 50...but as i never bothered to research the subject I'm not going to say a definite "no" just that if it is possible...its friggin hard.

Foraging, however you can work over 50 on a non ranger...in fact its encouraged to do so for druid epic which require about 6 foraged items from various zones.

You can only raise those abilities if the class gets them. If it was given as a racial ability and your class doesn't get it, then it will never increase. The only way of it being higher than the 50 cap is to get an item that increases the ability by some %. I don't recall seeing items that improve hide or forage, but it doesn't mean their aren't any. Other than that I'm not familiar with any way if increasing it.

Not since Lord of the Rings the movie Smiley: wink

Rangers used to be gimp, since archery became meaningful they are great.

Thanks Kerik, that clears up the question I never considered asking but am glad to know.

Druids cap at 200 forage. As for modifiers to forage skill you can obtain
everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=7936]
which will add 10% to your skill
