Is there a market for this?Follow

#1 Mar 02 2004 at 3:37 AM Rating: Default
My Enchantress will craft one of these for her Cleric sister: Silver Ruby Veilwich is an obvious choice as good masks are hard to attain under lvl 20 (AND without PoP)and the stats fit perfect.

I just wonder if it would also sell in the Morden Rasp Bazaar. I got just enough plat for 4-5 attempts and at 140p for the Ruby I would have to sell for about 250p (covering my failures). On the other hand, selling +2 STAT silvered rings brings only pocket money as the market allows no higher price than about 5p a piece.

Whats your opinion/advice on that item?

I doubt it. New economy though, so it is possible. Do you seen anyone else selling them?

That's just the point. Most jewelcrafters at Morden Rasp seem to lack the funds to risk failures with components that cost 100+ plat so minor silvered rings and minor electrum bracelets make the bulk of whats offered at the Bazaar.

There IS a market for fancier items, I am just VERY unsure if some players there are alreardy wealthy enough to spend 250p on a single item.

My point is it is not that fancy. Since 250pp is presumably hard to get at the moment, I doubt people's priority is going to be a gimp mask.

Morden Rasp is not a new economy, at least not Stromm type new. They are allowing transfers there, so people with lots of money, and high level alts will move there and buy stuff.

However, you might find a buyer for them, because IMO, new servers do bring in new people (non transferrs I mean) as well.

If there is not much out there better then your veil then go knock yourself out!

One thing about the economy is that there are always a few peeps who can afford and will buy anything that distances them from second best.

Afterall - are there really items that are worth 100'ks on the other servers? Its the demand and uniqueness that causes outrageous prices.

I think yours will sell and the demand will be there as long as there are no other items that are comparable and sell for less.

Just my humble opinion.

Just make one. If it sells, make more. If doesn't, don't. You have to speculate to accumulate.

Thanks for all your advice - I think I will make just one and if it sells make another one for my Cleric and a second one to sell again.

Btw: Who needs the Casino if you can tradeskill with components for 200+ plat *lol*

People with high level alts and lots of money don't equip themselves with silver ruby veils.

agreed :D

Much to my surprise the economy at morden Rasp is perfectly balanced at the moment. The tranferred chars are 90% level 50+ so there is a HUGE gap between the needs of those and the ones who started out anew.

As the transferred chars are also mostly to high for LDoN the Bazaar is also not getting overflowed with mid-level items. An Orc Fang Earring p.e. still sells for 100p (on FV they sold for as low as 25 which was ridiculous).

Weapons and Armor include tatared, banding and beginning also some LDoN-recipe armor like Gothic or Sand Blasted (for which 200+ is a fair price) but then another huge gaps opens to items from 15k-100k.

As it will take some time until this gap is closed and things will begin to mix up I am positive the economy will stay balanced for quite long. :)

Some people have done that...
I thank them, I was too lazy to buy stuff on my home server but my warrior who came over about 9k overweight with cash found plenty of good stuff ;)

As a Morden Rasp player I understand the reality of the shambles of our economy. Its really bizarre there right now. Paying 250 plat for a silver ruby veil isnt that much to ask on this server. Why? Because there is just about zero items in the bazaar! Everyone is either level 65 + with a zillion AA's or around late 20's now. Most of the players are still wearing their newb armor quest gear or the bits and pieces of what they've been able to salvage on lucky rolls in LDoN.

Examples of twisted economy here--

FBSS 7k ( and your gonna pay for it cause its the only one)

2 Flawless Diamonds I bought for 300 plat (the pair) off the NPC vendor in bazaar. Some 65 + player obviously didnt think there was a market for them right now.

or

Flawless Diamond 5k (and your gonna pay for it cause its the only one.

I have never seen so much banded mail flying off the shelves. Its hilarious to watch but it is at its least driving the econmy.

*tip --- if your playing on Morden Rasp right now save everything you loot to give to your trader mule. Everything seems to be selling. I watched a guy buy two recondite bandit rings for 5 plat a piece and then head to paludal for some exp!
Its freaking crazy.

By the way Im selling those Flawless Diamonds for 4k a piece now, gotta undercut my competition. :P

After a heavy trading session yesterday for 600 plat, in my opinion the economy is busting and not screwed up at all. Banded armor is falling in prices as a lot of people are able to make it now but silvered jewelery is still a moneymaker on a scale of an easy 25-50p each night. Of course this will soon drain as the flow of new players arriving slows down and LDoN begins to bring better ear/neck slot items to many players.

The Seafarers Buckler my Freeport Cleric crafts is the only stat-enhancing shield under 500p so far and sells well for 21p - ok its cheap compared to the cost of 14p for the components and the risk of failures but I just can't resist making them *lol* .And Monks seem to like it especially. (BTW: Trivials not at 108 but as low as 68!)This night my Barbarian Shaman will craft a dozen of Northman Kite Shield which will surley be well recived by customers =)

It's a shame somehow that last weekend I finally found the Orc Trainer uncamped and got the Shiny Brass shield now

Yesterday I crafted the Northman Kite shields and guess what? I had the wrong recipe (as most pages on the web had) - it took me not a MQ sheet metal but a MQ folded sheet metal :(

Now I have to sell the 3 I made for 49p to cover components and failures...which is NOT very exciting....

PS: I did put the correct recipe in the apropriate allakhazam section of course to make sure other Barbarians blacksmiths don't fall for the same trap.
