Hello all,

Thanks for the help you've been giving me so far. For anyone who remembers me I'm now lvl 6 and totally hooked. A couple of questions if I may?

1. BL Quests in Halas. I spoke to Hoyce, he said go get a wolf pelt, I did, he said well done, da dar, got XP. Marvellous. Then he said get three threads and a tattered cap, I did, he said.........jack diddly squat. What's that all about then? Is it cos I've already got some armour (from a kindly Paladin taking pity on me) and so he thinks I don't need it? All he says to me now is "Did Keven send you?" When I mention Keven he sends me off for another wolf pelt? When I bring him another he says, I don't want it you keep it. Any ideas?

2. Do you only ever allocate Str Dex Int etc when you initially create a character? From other games I thought I might have to allocate more each level up, but that does not seem to be the case here.

3. Is there any reason to return to your corpse if you die below level 10? Not that I have of course. Ahem. I just didn't want to leave hundreds of me cluttering up the place.

4. Is there a good time to leave the local area to Halas and set out? If there are no more quests to do here I'll go on and explore. But of course if I strike out into the wilderness and then die, I'll have a long walk to collect my corpse? Any suggestions?

Again, thanks very much for all your advice. Like 'Biigg' the gorgeous Troll lady said to me last night. I'm getting there.

Lance.

The postings to the Field priest Quests seem to indicate that he is a touch buggy.

What he wants is three silk threads (tailoring combine of 2 x spiderling silk) and a large tattered skullcap again a tailoring combine using a ruined bear pelt and a cap pattern. If you did all this then you just have to accept he is not quite himself lately and move on. Take a bunch of those spideling silks to the bazaar and you will be able to get some better gear than he doles out anyway.

It is a damned shame that Barbarian beastlords get no newbie armour apart from these buggy old quests when they have implemented new-style armour quests for rogues, shaman and warriors.

Your starting stats are the only time you can adjust those figures. Thereafter changes are down to gear and - much later - AAs. Raising them with gear is not hard though.

3.
Good practise. If you have never had to find a corpse out in the windswept tundra it is going to be a bit of a shock at level 10 when you have to start. No need to be obsessive about it but being able to find your corpse is a useful thing to learn.

4.
When you think you can branch out then try it. You can use PoK but if you do it the "old-fashioned" way then you have to go through Blackburrow. That is fun in it's own right. There is plenty to do right on your doorstep but you can always go elsewhere if you want. Qeynos, Freeport or Kelethin all have quests you can do.

I would think around level 6 you can start hunting in BB. Or you can go to qeynos hills.
Everfrost however, will take you to the high teens all by itself.
em/ clears throat to break into song.
Oh give me a home where the Mammoths do roam, and the vengeful soloist plays.
Where often is heard the orc troopers word.
And the skies are snowy all day.

Home, home on the frost!
Where sudden death is often the cost.
Of the loot that you take, and the corpses you make.
While the Tribunal does judge all they see.

em/ bows to applause and to duck the thrown vegtables. (Darn those foragers!)

Once you do strike out from your home city, you may find it handy to get soulbound in PoK.

They didn't create beastlord armor quests for barbarians? That's rotten!

Not sure if this will help but did you have the threads stacked? I have found they need to be unstacked or individually put into the trade window.

Hope that helps.

Good luck :)
