I don't think the default UI will show percentages. You'll have to use a custom UI. For a few ideas look here.

A number of us get our UI stuff from www.eqinterface.com

As a tip, you don't need to download a whole set for what you need. The Player Window mods usually offer what you want. (I use 'Mortis' as it shows % for Exp and AA as well as all my other stats in one place.)

Why don't you look through the 'Featured UI's' to find one you like. I use Slayer2-1 i think it is between 30 -50% better than the standard UI.
Generally the instructions are on the page and all it requires you to do is 'click' download to your 'EQ' Uifiles and then unzip <right click and open.> then log into eq and type /loadskin. then select your new skin and place it however you like it best.

I even think there is a section that allows you to download small area's into the standard files i.e updated targeting rings etc.

If you are not very knowledgeable with "computers" or more specifically editing XML files then you are better off with an off-the-peg solution than trying to fiddle around yourself. Unless you feel that you want to learn XML.

EQinterface offers several such solutions. I use one called "Tablets" (works fine as long as I keep taking them)

Look in the downloads section and find one that suits you by clicking the "View" option. Beware that some only work at certain screen resolutions. Running a 1280 x 1024 on a 15" monitor will give you a headache.

Download it somewhere sensible and unzip it.

In your Everquest folder you will have one called "UIFiles". It contains one folder called "Default". Now create a new folder in the UIFiles folder so that you see Default and MyUI (or whatever you called it) side by side at the same level. Copy all your unzipped files from the download into this new folder.

In game use the command /loadskin This will offer you the names of any folders at that level. Choose the one you want. There will be a pause and then the UI is loaded and you are using it.

I would suggest that if you want to play with adding minor bits to the default UI then you create a copy of the default to do it in. This preserves your escape route if all goes pear-shaped.

This information is all openly available on the EQInterface site. If you were unable to find it then you might be better off just knowing that one blue bubble is 4%.
