As a Druid with the newly aquired level of 39, I set about aquiring my new spells. Only to fall for one of the cruelest jokes yet on EQ players by SOE.
Some of you I am sure know what is coming but...hush now so other newbies like myself can learn from my experience.
Armed with a list of spells and where they are sold, I proceeded to spend my hard earned Ice Giant pp. LoL.
Butcherblock for the first seven, picked up two in Surefall, off to PoK for one...oops there is another, means I have one less to buy in Toxxullia.
Picked up another in Shadowhaven.
In Kelethin I picked up two. Hmmm one of these can take me to pick up the one I need in Wakening Lands...cool!
Cool looking zone in at Wakening Lands...WTF is all this flame all around me...

so I scroll back through the chat and sure enough
"you have been slashed by Wuoshi for "****pts"
"you have been burned by Wuoshi for "****pts"
PLEASE WAIT, RELOADING...
WOW! I have never been killed that fast before.
And unsuspecting?
"You are hungry"
"You are thirsty"
Out of the Blue...Wham...Bam...Thank you Ma'am.
Well ok. I set down to do some research that should have been done before I guess.
Yep there it is on eqatlas.com, plain as day.
"the Druid port into the zone is sat on by the Dragon Wuoshi and you will be killed if you don't have the proper faction" or something to that effect.
To top it off I couldn't zone back to that port again on my own even if I did want to, as I lost level 39 as fast as I died.
To make a long story short, after much /ooc for help, a fine Bard offered to drag my corpse out of there if the Dragon Wuoshi was on the Skyshrine faction. I checked. He was. Now all we need is a port.
Got a port to Cobalt Scar.
Something saw through Invis and...
"PLEASE WAIT, RELOADING..."

Got another port back to CS... same thing

Third time is a charm, though this time someone had to log in a Druid alt to port me there.(Thank you very Much!)as previous kindly port provider had moved on to a group adventure.(probably shaking his head in amazement at my naivete')
Through Cobalt Scar into Skyshrine and to Wakening Lands, Kindly Bard drags Corpse out from under Wuoshi's watchful eye and I port back to PoK where I breath a deep sigh of relief for getting all back in one piece again.
Thank you all who helped and offered up advice to the idiot spamming /ooc help.

It is still a cruel joke that they give this port to a level 39 druid who has in no way achieved the faction needed to survive an angry Dragon...
Live and learn, but to those who follow...be careful.
You can buy it.
You can Mem it.
It may not be wise to use it ...yet.

In ending this not so short story,
I have my level back now, but there are a few spells that are going to wait for a better plan, Lol.

Same exact thing happened to me first time I used that port lol...In fact same thing happened to me MANY times on other trips into the unknown lol...check out my post on the Fine cut,diamond inlaid mask....

If I remember correctly the one sold in WL is the GD port anyway. That has been largely superseded by the PoK book. The GD port point isn't a lot of use except for Velks. You would be better off porting via PoK and taking the book.

There is a port channel on our server (or used to be) and it was a common question "is Wuoshi up?". It used to be a popular raid target and on most servers stayed up for almost an hour before the zone was safe for another 3 days. With LDoN and PoP though Velius dragons tend to get ignored and it is up more and more.

Go kill giants - it is fun anyway and quite easy at 39. You'll get to non-KoS before long. If you get the chance to tag along on Kael raids then the faction gain is excellent.
