If you are just getting started or new, read the manuals and look at the sections on this site related to your class and race. Also look at the links to class specific sites (for example I like the white cross site for pallys).

You should also look at the maps under the Atlas link for the zone you are playing in and Illia's Beastiary to see what creatures to target in that zone and who to avoid. They are linked and are invaluable aids to play EQ in my opinion.

Starting out you will be killing low level creatures and running back often to sell loot (and hopefully upgrading armor and weapons or spells). Don't be afraid to ask questions as many people will be happy to help - however, begging is generally frowned upon. Good luck.

set up the following hotkeys they will make alot of difference to the way people treat you

Hotkey 1:

/ooc Train to zone <guards if in a newbie zone> please be carefull! i am comeing and i am not stopping so get out of the way

Hotkey 2:<melee class only.>

Line 1: assisting %t with the kill
Line 2: /assist

hotkey 3: so you don't have to spam the zone asking where your corpse is. hit this when you are about to die.

/loc

and do not ever beg in any form! be it for items or buffs, ask nicely if you need anything and remember that while people may help you, they may also be busy with friends waiting for them.

The game is called everquest, not everbeg. Thats a big issue on most servers.
As above go to a class specific site and read all the areas of this site. Go back into the forums to look at other topics along the lines of help the newb, noob newplayer.

In most newbie zones you will get a lot of the following: spiderling silk (5-10pp each), spider silk (5-10pp each), bone chips (5gp-1pp), and low, medium, and high quality pelts. Put in bank-do not sell to merchant. They will all sell in bazaar, and make you enough money to get started well. I often buy when newbies /auction these items, and even give them a little extra (all without them having to beg). Prices are approximate for bazaar, and will vary by server. Go lower than average if you want them to sell fast.

Trader satchels to use to sell in bazaar are about 1-2pp each (weigh 25 pounds-DO NOT leave bazaar with them). If you spend time in bazaar you will never have to worry too much about money. If you don't have to share computers and internet with people, you can sell in bazaar while you sleep.

Bazaar is EQ - Luclin expansion.

What's your character's name? What race/class are you playing? What server are you on?

If you are on Cazic-Thule, send me a /tell in game and I'll do what I can to help.
