Rogue Weapons and Armor setupFollow

#1 Feb 18 2004 at 11:59 AM Rating: Decent
I am new to EQ and am a Half Elf Rogue.
I was wondering what the types of weapons I should buy per level of experience.
I am at level 8.

Right now this is my weapons and armor:

Weapon:
Long Bow
Spear 12 points of damage

Armor:
Leather Armor

What is the next progressive step I should take on my next purchase to upgrade my equipment? Maybe the next after that too.
Anyone have any ideas?

Having a blast in Crushbone, but want to kill them a bit faster!!! ;-)

Thanks,

Choosing weapons and armour is a very individual thing and depends a lot on how you play whatever class you are talking about.

I have a level 14 DEF ROG who has the following weapons
Primary:
Curfang's Torment (piercing) necessary for backstabbing
Secondary:
Shaded Blade (1H Slashing) he used it from level 11
Range:
Validus Custodius Longbow (however that is spelt)

I am in the process of looking for a better 1HS blade - the shaded blade is nice but you lose SV Fire points. With dual wield he is close to gaining agro from my wife's tank and I have to remember to back off or use evade to lose it.

Armour:

I have him completely outfitted in Acrylia studded armour. I looked at Ravenscale but the stats were not as good (for my purposes) as the acrylia. I wanted him to be not just fast and well armoured but to have good wisdom stats as well (I have my toons doing tradeskills from an early age). He still looks as if he is wearing leather but the AC is *very* much better.

I hope this is a help - remember it is one individual's choices. What you choose will depend on what you want to do with your rogue - and, to a certain extent on the choices you made when you created and began playing him/her.

Glad you are enjoying the game - Rogues are, IMO one of the best classes to play for fun (as long as you remember ... "You are not a TANK!!"

Thanks for your suggestions. I will look for that type of armor and weapons.
Also, should I get with a guild? Does it help to quest together with that type of association? Do you get to trade for really valuable things with the more experienced? There has got to be some benefits to it.

Thanks,
