I've looked everywhere, but apparantly not in the right spots. How do I get EQ to log all the chat every time I log on?

Actually, Tarv, this is a common thing. There are numerous log parser programs that can take that log info and track loot, damage taken/dealt, skills advancements, etc. This also include a db of all /tell /say /gsay etc.

I use one from time to time. I tis nice to be able to go back and review situations...especially where things go bad. Sometimes you can see things that people said that got missed in the ehat of battle that can baetter clarify the reasons for the problem. Kind of a tactic and strategy analysis tool.

couldnt live without log on all the time. often go back and check stuff, or decide to parse/analyze afterwards.

An alternative to switch logging on is by using the in-game command:

/log on

The log file appears in your Everquest directory, and is called something eqlog_charname_servername.txt where charname is the first name of your character and servername is the server on which you play.

After a while these log files can grow pretty large, especially if you leave them on while spending long times in pok/bazaar, or if you raid a lot.
