Seeking the aid of wisdom & knowledge, again!Follow

Sorry about the subject I just felt bad saying 'Please help' all the time. Sometimes it feels like I am asking too many questions, its just that there is sooo much to learn.

I have a few more questions if anyone would be so kind:

1. Guilds, What are the benefits of joining a guild. Does anyone know any good guilds to look for on Stromm Server?

2. Is LDoN only for lvl 20 and above and groups of 4 and above ? Can you solo ?

3. Is there any way of setting up a hot key to switch weapons. Such as 1HS and Shield to 2HS. I have managed to create a hotkey button based on an inventory slot but it just changes the pointer to the new item rather than equpping it.

4. Can you gain skill in using weapons on MOBS (What does MOB mean ?) that con green/light blue/blue ?

5. Is there any game etiquette for camping a site ? I dont want to annoy anyone else ? Should you only camp for a certain time ? Can you camp on your own ?

I appreciate all the help I have already been given on these forums, maybe in the future I will be able to pass on some knowledge to other newbies. Might be a while though Smiley: grin

1. I don't play on Stromm, so don't know any guilds there. Some of the key benefits are that with a (good) guild you have friends around that help in providing information and help in case you are in need (like difficult corpse runs that you cannot perform by yourself without help) and depending on what kind of guild it is you may get the chance to see zones and take down mobs you'd otherwise never be able to visit/take down. Most guilds also have restrictions or their own specific rules (like that you MUST raid with them a minimum amount of times a month/week, level requirements, etc.)

2. LDoN is for level 20 and above. Nowadays you can get an adventure with three to six people groups. LDoN also supports raid content. You CAN solo in LDoN if you really want to but need at least two other people in your level range (max. 7 levels difference) to get in. It's not intended for soloing.

3. Not to my knowledge. They use something like that in Diablo II, which is really nice. Maybe a 'switch set' may be something upcoming in a next expansion or patch. /feedback the idea and maybe they'd implement it some day.

4. I think you can gain skills on lightblue mobs, but I am not sure. Green mobs do not give skills. MOB stands for something to do with Mobile Object if I remember well, but someone else may know the more precise meaning.

5. There are etiquettes. There's no limit on the time you can camp something, and you can camp something solo, as long as you can take it solo (otherwise it's no use really anyway).

Good questions. Never any harm in asking for help. It gives us poor sad old folks a chance to make ourselves useful Smiley: smile

1. Guilds vary a lot. Some are "family" guilds and are there mostly for mutual support, helping you find groups and just giving you a feeling of not being alone in the Big Empty. They may include greater or lesser degrees of roleplay. Others are more oriented towards raiding and may be less supportive and more demanding. The best way to find out is to visit your server boards and look at which guilds are recruiting, see what their charters are like and try and find one that fits your kind of person. Then seek out opportunities to group with their members and see what they are like in-game.

2. Min is 3 people. they are winnable with 3. If you started one and 2 left then you would be soloing but you would be unlikely to win or get much exp. The key aspect of LDoN seems to be the ability to either prevent (Pacify etc) or control (Mezz etc) multiple pulls. Unless you could do this solo you would likely get stomped. If you were extremely well geared then it might be viable.

3. You cannot auto switch but by doing what you have and putting the inventory slot on a hotbutton you can also put your Primary and Secondary on hotbuttons (or use a Custom UI that does this for you) this way you can pick the weapon from inventory and exchange it with the one in Primary/Secondary without breaking combat or having to open the inventory window.

4. Skill rises will be fewer on light blues and non-existent on greens. They are not however noticeably faster on reds than on blues in my experience. I believe "Mob" derives from "mobile" meaning any moving object in the game world.

5. Well according to SoE "There is no such thing as a camp". however common usage and courtesy designates anything that is a fixed spawn as a camp. Orcs in EC for example have fixed locations where they spawn and this is a recognised camp. Bears spawn randomly all over the place (watch where you tread) and could not be called a "camp".

There is no real limit to the amount of time you can camp something provided you are actually there and killing the mobs. If you go off to sell, go afk, or otherwise stop working the camp then be prepared to lose it. Be prepared also for people to have strange definitions of what they define your camp as. If the mobs are giving you exp and you want to camp them then it doesn't really matter if you are one person or a full group. if you are alone and farming greens for some reason (faction, tradeskills etc) then I personally would give way to an exp group who wanted the spot. Opinions may differ on this one.

Also if you are not able to kill all the mobs before they respawn then be prepared to share the camp. It will probably be safer for both of you.

Back before light blue was added, you could get skill ups on some greens. The test is if the give xp. No xp, no skill ups. I have not encountered any greens since the change that gave xp/skill ups.
