Hiyas,

I am an Erudite Cleric and I was wondering if someone could point me to where I got in Erudin and whom I talk to about Tribute Benefits. Better yet where on Alla's can I find info on this? Appreciate your time. ~V

There are three zones in Erudin, and I do not know for sure in which of the three you'll find the person. It's not hard, however. Here's what you do.

Press ALT-M to open your 'actions window' (unless it is already open of course)

You'll find a button there: "Find". That's the "Find NPC" function. Just press it and you will see a window open with NPC names in the zone you are, as well as a listing of their funtions. So you'll see baking merchants listed, guild masters, etc. If you're in the correct zone (one of the three) you will also find the Tribute Master in that list. Click him, press 'find' and a magical path will appear before you. All you need to do now is follow it :)

Good luck.

PS: I am from Qeynos, and for those who want to know, the person (Christian is his name) is near the Paladin guild in South Qeynos. That's somewhere in the back, near the docks.

Thanks Marisha. I'd been trying to figure out where or how to get started in on the tributes thing. Smiley: yippee

I just read that the Tribute Masters have now been taken temporarily out of the game, for re-evaluation. o.O

Trying to find a better source on this than 'hear-say', will post again if I find.

It's true they announced it:

Tribute Masters taking a break
Your local tribute masters are taking a short vacation. It seems that after only two days of collecting tribute and granting favor, they are already worn out. They will also be in closed door discussions, at their secret retreat, to re-evaluate the amount of favor granted for items. Look for them to return prior to this weekend.

Not that it matters now but, he is (was) located Erudin right outside the temple next to the port that takes you to EP

Heh that system worked perfectly, they eliminated a huge chunk of the low end weapons that were floating around and now there gonna nerf the tribute vendors. I wouldnt be surprised to see almost everyones points wiped out when they come back.

So am I gonna end up losing my 450k tribute benefits when they come back? It's not my fault they gave 1180 tribute points for malarian larvae and I happened to have 17 stacks in the bank for when I decided to do some fishing. I assume, at the very least, I can't be banned. Though I was looking forward to my 700 hours of improved healing 4, extended range 4, +150 hp, +150 mana!

BTW, I wouldn't bother buying favor points if they cost 1pp per point. They need to be at least 15 or 20x the cost of pp to make it worthwhile.

I'm only speculating, but don't you think everyone having max tributes for over 700 hours is a bit out of balance?

all I know is that I went to turn in some items I looted, and the Tribute Masters were gone. That kind of sucks.

But if you also take a look at the COSTS... 120 points every 10 minutes... hell its hard to make that much pp (120pp) in 10 minutes for many folks..... If you donate money, then sure 1 point to 1pp seems fair. If you donate items it should be inflated by 10x the cost you would get in pp from a vendor, else why would anyone in their right mind use this system? I donate 100p to get get C3.. thats 3 hours of nice mana regen for 100p. you would be spending much more than 100p to get tribute buffs approaching C3... more like 100p every 10 minutes, 600pp an hour or 1800pp for three hours..

I never said I didn't think it was out of balance, I just said that I don't want to be banned for happening to find something that was worth 1100x it's cost in pp. Although, to be fair, what would actually happen is the cost in the bazaar for malarian larvae would move up to say, 20pp, which would be more balanced for the tribute points it gave.

I do think it will be hard to remove the tribute points that people already earned for turning in items without pissing a LOT of people off. There are people who turned in nice items to get the tribute points, so setting everyone back to 0 wouldn't be fair. Unless SoE has a log of who turned what in and can "adjust" the turn-ins, the best they can do is to just reduce the favor points you get in the future. In which case maybe I just get lucky. (Although posting here probably means I get screwed somehow).

I would tremendously pissed off if the items I had donated for tribute points was reset to 0 and I did not receive the items back. I was getting rid of items that just were not selling in bazaar, but would rather have gotten low amounts of plat than nothing.

/currently preparing petition if such is the case when I log in tonite.

they are not going to reset your points..they are just restructuring points for items. and they will continue to keep the 1 pp per point ratio that wasnt the problem. it was the inflated points for some items (not all). The only change you will see is that the new tribute masters will not give as many points for some of the items.

jamosb,

So for those of us that were "lucky" enough to spend some time on the first or second day figuring out what was worth what, we get to keep the benefits (i.e. points)?
