i started playing EQ about 4 months ago after getting bored with pointlessly running around shooting at stuff on my PStation.
since then, I've soloed (mostly ;-) my human ranger up to lvl 15, around the qeynos hills, BB, Everfrost, and recently ventured into the karanas. i,ve managed to keep the skills maxed out as I go and I don't think I've annoyed too many people along the way.(maybe a couple of trains in Blackburrow.oops!!)
Ive bumped into some fine people, and some ****** and generally speaking had a fine ol' time, and some genuinly scary moments. (hill giants! for goodness sake, what IS their problem?).
I was given a couple of bits and pieces along the way by some kindly folk to supplement the junk I was wielding, and went off and killed a million bats, rats and spiders to get some Pine scout kit. british racing green isn't really my colour, but it felt good, and it made me feel like an achiever...
one thing that bothered me a bit, tho'. here i was, busy rangering, and doing my bit, and all the while wondering where everone was. After all, here i was in the middle of antonica and the place was almost deserted! Then while sitting around getting my breath back one afternoon, i got into conversation with a chap who asked me if I'd been to Luclin? 'No' I replied, 'wheres that?'
He told me all about it.
I immediatly went and sorted myself out some access to the fabled Luclin. (t'was on the way there that I met my first hill Giant! (You wait I'll be back to sort YOU out, y' bugger)After getting my bearings, off i trotted to the Bazaar.
THATS when it ALL became clear... No wonder I couldn't find anyone. just like a public holiday here on Earth.
EVERYONE HAS GONE SHOPPING!!!
well it cleared up that little mystery....
anyway there wasn't really a point to all this, except to say, i REALLY enjoy my time in my other body. I do wonder why so many people seem to moan so much, and complain about this and that and each other, but after spending some time in the Bazaar, I came to realise, that EQ is just an alternative reality, even down to peoples shopping habits......
So now I know, I'm back off to try out my new stuff, and learn some new things and hang out doing things that are generally frowned upon where I live normally, and THEN, when I'm a bit bigger and tougher, I'll hopefully bump into some of the BIG BOYS (& girls) and go off and tw@t some of the big monsters i seem to spend a lot of time running away from!!
So for now, Bom shankar, from Feadern (Kane Bale)
PS. picked up some nice kit in the bazaar, but could do with some more toilets! hehehe
