Pardon me if this question has been asked before. But I am missing alot of maps like BB, FV and many others. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance

www.eqatlas.com for printable maps.
eqtoolbox for maps you may be able to download into game files.
Does this site have a search feature, use it as this has been asked recently.

I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what I'm missing with regard to maps. As far as I know, I downloaded and installed them, then started EQ, got in game, and hit backspace. The map looks no different than what they did before. Also, if I close the map window and open it back up (or maybe it's when I zone), all the detail I had from running around is gone. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you copy the maps from your unzip directory to the sony/everquest/maps directory.... if you did you would have had many "this file is here.... overwrite?" and click yes/yes to all/no/cancel.

If you did not find the unzipped directory and select all... copy.... go to the everquest/maps directory and paste them.

Ok I went there and I found the printable maps but what I am looking for is when you hit backspace and the map pops up. I couldnt find this eqtoolbox you were talking about. Sorry not trying to be difficult just unfamiliar with alot of things on EQ. I still cannot get these maps to pop up. I went into the files on my hard drive and they are listed (butcherblock) is listed but still the map doesnt pop up with backspace.....

Thanks in advance

http://www.eq-toolbox.com/

the maps you start with are mainly blank, only so many zones have maps for em without you having to download em. the maps you start with are mainly newbie town zones like kelethin and such (tho theres also a few of the more populated zones that have maps for em like DL and GD)

Guvwenea -

I had the exact same problem. Go to the website listed above, and download the maps. I download one at a time, you should be able to do this as well if you get the one big zip with all the maps in it.

The maps will have a name which ends in a _1, _2, etc. Rename them and get rid of it. So you start off with Blackburrow_1.txt, rename it to Blackburrow.txt.

Put the maps in you EQ maps directory. You should see them next time you zone, or log in, it varies for me.

The _1 and _2, etcetera, refer to the layer control on the backspace map window. You can apparently have several maps of the same thing on top of one another, and view them by hitting the 1,2,3 buttons. If you already dumped a ton of maps in your folder try pressing the 1 button, you might see the maps.

Also, the map may be "disappearing" on you because the height filter is on, press that button and you might see the maps.

Good luck :)
