/target <MAs name>
/assist on

I am assuming this is what your talking about? Create this in a blank social slot then drag it onto your hotbutton window

easy way to make hotkey without reworking one that already exists is use:

/hotbutton <NAME> <FIRST LINE>

so if you wanted to make a key that targetted the MT (named Tank for example), you'd type:

/hotbutton TGTTANK /target Tank

the key would then appear on your cursor and you then drop it into a hotbutton slot. you can then add lines to it by right clicking on it.

there are a ton of cool commands you can use with they keys. like "/cast #" will cast a spell from the spell slot # you specify as #. "/pause #" will wait a specified period of time (good for those that lag a little and wanna give the comp some time to target before doing the next line). in the pause, every "10" that you specify equals 1 second. so if you wanted to wait for 2.5 seconds it would be /pause 25.

there are plenty of other commands too, I love hotbuttons. when you 2-box it makes life a whole lot easier.

There are also a couple of other keys that make targetting much easier, especially in laggy areas:
F1-F6 : Targets group members (F1 always being yourself) - particularly great for healers to quickly target and cast heals even when they can't see the tank through all the mobs.
F8: targets nearest mob. This can be a bit risky if there's a lot of mezzing going on and you're not MT or enchanter, but still well worth knowing.

Because I use the F keys to target group members, I don't have to change my assist key every time the group or raid changes. I just have a key that says /assist ....it will assist whoever my target is at the moment. (interesting side not ...you can also /assist a mob to see you it's got aggro on at them moment)

i remapped the "target nearest mob" key to the numpad * key and the "target nearest NPC" to the numpad / key. makes it easier to use those since they are right above the keys I use to move around. mouselook helps too if you can get used to using it. i especially like how if you hold both mouse buttons down you run.

only thing with "target nearest ..." keys is that they usually dont work very well if you are levitating. I keep SoE on all the time and its difficult to target that way.

you can also activate AA abilities from the chatbox using:

/alt activate ###

where ### is the number of the ability. I have a whole list here...impossible to list them all, but a few are:

35 for MGB, 43 for Exodus, 47 for Cannibalization, 58 for mend companion, 109 for Rampage, 110 for Area Taunt, 117 for Strong Root, 153 for Radiant Cure..

the list goes on. if you want the number for a specific AA ability just post the name of the ability and I will post the number for it if its on my list.
