Hi, I have a few newbie questions if anyone would like to share there knowledge:

1. When looking at some items in the Bazaar, it shows their damage and delay but also shows a lower set of figures in red next to them. Is this because I am a lower level and are these the stats that I would get from the item ?

2. Is there a limit to the amount of items you can sell in the Bazaar ?

3. Can anything take items from you without you knowing ? (Like Rogues for example)

4. Any other tips would be welcome.

5. Is there anyway to stop your girlfriend leaving you because you play EQ tooooo much ? :-)

Ravenblade, lvl 11 Paladin, Stromm Server.

1. Yes. With items like this you will probably see a Recommended Level : number. At that level, you will get the highest stats on that item. At your current level you'll get the reduced stats, and they'll slowly increase as you approach the recommended level.

2. To the best of my knowledge, the only limit to the items you can sell in bazaar is the amount of space you have in trader satchels on your character.

3. Unless you are on a PvP server, your items are yours until you give them away, destroy them, or lose them on a corpse you don't find before it rots. If I'm not mistaken, on a PvP server, when a player kills you he may take ONE item from your corpse that isn't No Drop.

4. Read up on zones you plan to hunt in. Make friends early (both at your level and above). Donate for services when you can, don't expect donations for your services but be pleasantly surprised when you get them. Expect trains if you're camped near the zoneline. Remember it's only a game and learn to laugh when your toon dies.....

5. Yes...teach her how to play and get her addicted too =)

Rules vary by server.

Watch it Leiany! that will not work. Marry her before she appreciates the game and you will never play again...or you will simply have to balance your monthly EQ expense with your newly acquired alimony payment!

OK, some practial advice...I have been married for 16 years. When I got married I liked video games but there was no way I was spending hours upon hours like EQ caused...actually UO was my first painful vid addiction. It took my wife a long time to come around on EQ and for us both to reach compromise status. The game was only affecting our relationship, as my kids all played too and having 2 accounts we grouped and used it as a rather fun and unique family fun time. But my wife just does not do vid games (except Tiger Woods golf on XBox). I quit EQ for her and then after a few months she asked if I missed it. I said yes so she let me back on with a specific set of rules. But it has worked well.

Now for the advice part...if I were single now and had the intense love for vid games that I do, I think I would factor that into finding someone to be my companion. I did that with sports...I am a die hard Laker fan and I figured I could not marry someone who would not let me devote time to watching basketball...people do it with other habbies all of the time. If you played golf every week you would not continue dating or marry a person who did not want you to golf anymore. If you were into hang-gliding you would marry someone who would let you pursue that. Therefore, if you truly want to keep playing EQ and other vid games, you need to find someone that at least is willing to let you have that hobby...having her learn to love the game is an excellent test of this and could prove to have surprising results.

WARNING: If you have someone that is just a girlfriend wanting to change things about you already, pretty good warning sign.

I decided to start playing, but I offered to share EQ with my wife. Now we play together, and its looking like we will have to get another account rofl.
