The only way to start BrewingFollow

#1 Feb 09 2004 at 4:45 AM Rating: Decent
As I refuse to work up my TS with crap I did put 1 point into Brewing and started making Heady Kiola non-stop till 46.

It took me 142 attempts for 260 cp each and I produced exactly 71 Heady Kiola(INT 139, CHA 92, indifferently conning vendors).

It took me 6 shouts to sell the stuff for 2p each in the Bazaar later on (next higher price -and only other trader btw- was 4 p) which yielded a profit of over 100 plat.

I doubt that I will ever again make such a profit in raising a TS for 45 points ;-)

Cheap way for brewing to 122:
1-fishing grub; 1 flask water.
Combine, makes Fetid Essence, which is used in making the Faithstone of Decay.

The grubs can be foraged or bought for mere coppers. Water flasks are also cheap, about 1 silver.

If you are going for cheapest brewing, then may I suggest making Shar Vahl Essence - 1 flask of water, 1 Payala Fruit (Ground spawn all over in Shadeweavers, usually under most of the Blue-colored trees, you will find one). It trivies at 187, so you will get alot of failures till around 145 or so, but for cost-effectiveness, its the best I've seen in any tradeskill. Once you learn where all the ground spawns are, you can collect them in a circular pattern around the zone. By the time you complete a cycle, they start to respawn...so you can pretty much continually just pick em up until you have all you can carry.

Hope this helps!

Skull Ale is the way to go. Get absolutely wrecked and give bottles away at parties.

cyclops skull (Undead Cyclops in South Karana), short beer (1s5c), spices (7c), vinegar (1s). Yields 2 and you get the skull back after both success and fails!

It'll take you to 151.

I did the fetid essence, and it took little time to reach the triv. Kiolas are also awesome. They are selling on Quellious for 5-10pp.

I'm a glutton for punishment, I did MHB's from 0 to 248. Everything you need is within 1 zone crossing, and no having extra junk you have to sell back when you top out on other items.

Granted, this took a LOT of time, but I'm ok with that.

Not after today they wont. Expect people trying out the new tradeskill system to flood the market with several billion of these for the next few weeks. I would be surprised to see them fetching 1pp for the rest of this week even.

Gotta agree here. If it isn't something with stats or used in a tradeskill that is a high trivial, forget it and be prepaired to sell directly to vendors. This new Tradeskill window will indeed flood the market, just you wait and see. I may stop making Grobb Liquid Meats if the price comes down too far. Right now on my server it goes back and forth between 10 and 5pp.
