The Odus and Velious Scion are sharing the same platform in the nexus and yesterday I tried to get to odus twice.
First time I hailed the Odus Scion, got onto the platform, got sent to the Great Divide, got nearly killed by some Dire Wolf as I arrived, gated out just in time - my fault I suppose...
Second time I hailed the odus Scion and got sent to the Great Divide the very instant without even touching the platform, gated out immediately as I arrived - still my fault?
Is this scion/platform broken or am i still doing something wrong?

The Odus/Velious platform alternates between the two destinations. Speaking to the NPC there has no effect on where you wind up.
I believe there's still the voice in the Nexus that says "the blah, blah and blah portals will be ready in five minutes" or some such. You'll need to wait until Odus is one of the blahs in question. Alternately, depending on your class, you might find it quicker to take the NK portal and just hike to Qeynos and use the transloactor gnomes to get to Erudin.

There are some wierd things going on
I tried to get into Qeynos Aqueducts via the well by the bank and came out in The Feerrott with a message about being "under the world" and being moved to a "safe spot". I tried this 3 times before going in another way. It was perfectly repeatable.
I did the Neriak rogue thing with a young necro pulling and frequently on zoning - at full hp - the necro was the other end of Neriak Commons.
Some spooky stuff here
And while the Odus/Velius pad normally alternates I have watched it go to the same destination twice in a row. Smart folks wait off the platform and run on when you see "Odus Spire begins to cast a spell". Arriving in the middle of GD at low level can be a terminal experience. Waiting for the spire there is certainly a nerve-wracking one when all around is red and wandering wolves take chunks out of you.

The infamous "Spire-knapping"
I've been picked up by spires on Norrath when I was well outside the 4 pillars and even when I had no shard on me. All part of the haywire magic that cobbled them together. Enjoy the lore.
