Do you remember when EQ used to be fun? Yes or no?

For myself, it'd have to be yes. What about you guys? It hasn't been fun for me for over 2 years, really. Not as fun as it was when I first started 4.5 years ago! :(

I'm having a great time. I think the trick for me was to grow with the game. I'm also pretty lucky in that some of my friends from way back when still play.

It's still a lot of fun for me as well. I just joined a raiding guild a couple months ago and am having the time of my life.

Quick question, if you're not having fun playing it then why are you playing it?

I very much agree.. the element of discovery and places I haven't been that was there over 4 years ago made it a lot more fun. I also kinda miss auctioning off my stuff without a bazaar! The old concepts of the game are gone, making it suffer a bit, I believe. I miss those days!! :(

Yes, I remember when it used to be fun, in fact I don't remember a time when it was not fun. Frustrating sometimes, but always fun.

It is even more fun now. In the past couple of days I have been to a zone I had never before seen. Embarked on a new quest (keys for a PoP zone), completed several fund dungeon crawls and met and made a couple of new friends.

Still lovin' every minute of it.

I remember quite well, which is easy as it's only been 10 hours since then :-)

Still fun for me, but mostly because of my friends. I just enjoy playing with them. Also, variety is the spice of life - I do a pretty big mixture of raiding, ldon adventures, and socializing/roleplaying to keep things fairly fresh for me.

its still fun. just not NEARLY the same level as when it was new. the simple fact you can find spoiler information and can see the higher end gear linked just takes a lot of the fun out of it. half the fun of the higher end gear is seeing it in that little info window. now even a n00b can see epics, ornate, etc linked in the bazaar if they spend 5 minutes watching spam.

its not even "new" anymore to walk into a zone you've never been in in most cases...as you've already seen maps and heard it described to you before you even entered. and when a new expansion or zone comes out, everyones already heard about it a week later. look how long the revamped zones lasted...most are empty now..i know i only peeked into one of them.

sony swapped ease of use for that mysterious newness that kept you creeping forward to see what was around the next corner.

This question boggles my mind.

Why would you play a game thats not fun!?!?!

Sure there are lots of things that can be made better, but if it isn't fun anymore why play?

I was in the same boat as you were. Then i decided to leave my home server and transfer my main toon to another one (FV). Joined a casual raiding guild and have renued interest in the game. i have been haveing more fun in the past months after i transferred then i have had in a while.

maybe you need to move on and find something that excites you if EQ doesnt?

OK, so you are saying that EQ has not been fun for you for 2 years? And you still play???

You are an idiot then. Plain and simple. EQ is a game. If it is not providing you with fun then find something else to do. Do you view EQ the way you do life? Something that has to be faced? If so, my friend, go see a therapist, because you have issues.

I like the old school days and enjoy talking about the fun that it was. I will be the first to discuss differences that I like or dislike...but the game is still fun. When I am online and I cannot find anything fun to do I camp. If I find myself not having fun at all, I will quit...and that will not take 2 years.

You mean to say EQ wasnt fun at a time? When? I hope that time doesnt happen again. That would suck. EQ ROCKS DUDE. IF IT ISNT FUN SHUT UP AND STOP PLAYING.

Used to be fun?I agree with the others i think eq has always been fun.
there have been a few unfun times like when jboots used to drop in najena, yeesh that was no fun,/who all najena.200 people!same as befallen with the bone bladed claymore, downright riots trying to kill that ugly ogre for one of those, barely standing room only,or the the cleric epic in solb, talk about a hot spot.nope there have been a few unfun times, but i think that's the way it goes with everything.
But overall eq has been a blast and i imagine i will be playing for some time.
