Life after CrushboneFollow

#1 Feb 04 2004 at 3:17 PM Rating: Decent
Me lvl 14 Cleric and my wife Lvl 14 Warrior have been hunting Crushbone for a few days now and I think we will soon see the exp not come so quickly.

So my question is where is a good place to hunt after Crushbone
me and the wife always group and sometimes join others.
an area with good loot would be nice.

Thanks for the advise

Paludal Caverns. XP is about the best you will ever see in game and the loot is not bad either, and definately a lot better than CB. When you can get groups in PC depends on servers, but it should be good from lvl 15 to 25 doing the Bandit Camps and you have what it takes to start your own group anyway :)

Unrest is also excellent for those levels. It is also not far from where you are hunting now and the loot isn't too bad either.

***** the bandit camps. If you're going to PC, work your way to the back of the zone and fight Shik'Nar Outcasts. Loot isn't as good, but you can crawl the loop back there and kill nonstop as opposed to squabbling over bandit camps and waiting on respawns. Prior to being able to take the Shik'Nar, there's bugs along the path to fight who are also easy and rarely camped, if ever. Bandits are for chumps Smiley: wink

I agree with Jophiel, bandit camps are for chumps. One of you is a cleric, which is pretty much all that's necessary to hunt in PC. If you were a soloing warrior I'd advise against it, but with a person to cure disease patogs in PC can take you quite easily to 22, even 23. After that you can continue to hunt them, but most will be light blue and the caverns are probably driving you insane. The only advantage bandits have is loot, but even that I've never seen to be too great when you're dividing it with an entire group. It's like one piece of bronze armor(2-5pp) for every ten mobs.

I think the only advantages to Bandits is that its not BYOG which is where everywhere else is at that level range, and they are relativly close to a zoneline making CRs not terribly difficult.

If you have your own group there are lots of options in that level range. Probably one of the best is Befallen, that zone has a ZEM and the ent is a pretty nice camp spot. But its almost always empty on most servers.

If you don't like Paludal, try Oasis, one of my fave old-school zones.

After CB, my pallys and clcs went on to Oasis or unrest before I got Luc., agree that PC has great experience but found it hard to get in groups there. Unrest always had groups looking for more, especially healers and you can stay there all the way to low 40s if you really wanted (start outside, then pull from 1st floor, then 2nd and later towers and finish with basement). Oasis offers crocs and undead as well as Orc hiway. Cure disease is important there as rabies from mummies lasts a long time unless cured. My daughter and I play together (we have 2 accounts), another possibility that we tried recently with 18 clc and 19 war after CB was camping dervishes in N Ro, almost a steady stream after you break it first time and clc rooting can help spread out that first pull. Mostly light blue to green, but some dark blue in there. Turn in Rings in S Ro to orc for faction.

Im a Ranger and my wife is a Shadow Knight (alot of medding but we love the classes and the characters).
I hung around CB until about 12, then went to Kurn's Tower (cleric vs. undead) until 18, then hit Shiknars and other parts of PC until 23, then Aviaks in South Karana (pretty sure its in South), then Split-Paw until... uhmmm 28 or so, to CC (BYOG at 28 so you should do well) until 42, then we played around in Tower of Frozen Shadow. We got up to the fourth floor, but that room got add crazy for just the two of us. I think we got to 46 or 47. Then LDoN, LDoN, LDoN, to about 49 and PoJustice to 52. Then PoHate back to 51, *ahem*. Think we started in december, but I twinked us since I have an enchanter that i've played long before I could afford another computer. Probably coulda gotten better experience somewhere other than ToFS, not sure though cuz we had too much fun to worry about it =)
We did a few other zones because we like to explore but these are the places we ended up hunting the most in.
Hmm, maybe I should have paid more attention in my Lit. classes. Sorry for those who suffer through this =/

Uhg, I just saw your mention of good loot, we didnt start making much until split-paw. There fine steel weapons drop fairly often that sell for about 4-5 plat. So that aint bad at that lvl. GL!

Kurn's Tower or PC should be your next stop. Kurn's is really only good till about level 20. PC will take you to 25. The XP is unreal with either of the two.
