final fantasy xi is my first mmorpg. i love the ideas and graphics but i find the game lacking. i'd really like to play a new mmorpg and i was just wondering if anyones played both and their opinion. also, are there still noobs on EQ? or am i gonna be the only level 1 in a sea of level 50's??? or maybe i should just wait for EQ2?

I'm a noob, and a lot of the people I see in the starting town I was in are noobs. There's actually a server set up for newer players (Stromm), so they can avoid some of the issues that come up when a majority of the players are in the end-game with at least one toon.
FYI: Evolution came out recently, that's what I bought. For $25 you get the original game and the first five expansions. I think that deal may be bringing more new players to Norrath.

cool, thanks for the info. i was thinking it was gonna cost me a kidney and my first born to get started... with all the expansions and all.
